Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
It stinks we don't get our franchise QB, but then again he might not have been either. The guy was great in between the 20s like people say, but couldn't punch it in if the moved the ball within the red zone. Hell, JC was much better in the red zone than Kirk. The ending to the 2016 season was the exact opposite of what happened in 2015, and that didn't help Kirk's case for the big bucks. But I suspect that he wanted to leave all along and unless the FO offered him insane over the top of what Carr got $$$$$$, he was going to turn it down. A poster from NFL.com said it best a few days ago, Skins fans are in a bad way as we basically have to hope the Skins suck for us to retain him. Not sure that is what we as fans want. Better to just let him go and move on.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
Not to mention the team may blow up if KC leaves. Pryor may leave given no QB, and if we suck w/o Cousins - Gruden will have had a lukewarm 5-6 years and may be forced out as well. Put that together with a bunch of one year FA's this year --> we could be looking a lot different in two years..

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
He says its not all about the money, we offer him a fortune, he says no. Doesn't matter what happened initially, he was recently offered a more than fair contract and he said no. So he's either full of shit and/or doesn't want to play here. He's not good enough to be worth the headache. It's going to be another year of this shit and what will change? Clearly the ship of reasonableness has sailed on both sides. Time to move on.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
Jay Gruden has to be fucking livid at everyone. His whole season is going to be the same constant questions over and over.
Another question, if after the best offer Skins made, did Cousins even make a counter offer. Like what the fuck does he want? I want to here the numbers.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
Whatever the worst possible scenario is, that's what you should guess will happen to the Redskins or that's how they'll handle a situation.
This is so frustrating. Now we have to play a whole season with a lame duck QB that isn't even going to try to play well for anyone besides himself. How do you root for the Redskins and not root for the QB? Can we become a Wild-Cat team lol? All Wild-Cat and defense.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
It's not. He didn't even propose a counter-offer. He's gonna walk. It's about as close to a lock as you're gonna get in today's NFL. A qb in his prime hitting the FA market with no defects and his former o-coordinator is the head coach of a team that desperately needs a qb? The only question is how much money are the 9ers gonna give him.

I've already said the same in other post, but everyone has their price. If they offered him 5 years 125 million all guaranteed, I would bet he would take it. Hopefully we trade him ASAP. I don't want him on the team.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
Well they could do the unorthodox and play Sudfeld this season and take their lumps, then draft another qb in the draft with their first pick and have the two youngsters go at it for 2018. Face it Gut, we are looking at a probable blowing up of the team and starting from scratch, yet again. Snyder loves chaos, and he is the master of dishing it out. Who is going to be the new HC though? I mean if he ditches Gruden, absolutely nobody, NOBODY that is half decent will want to touch this team!!!

Scot McCloughan's wife takes not-so-subtle shot at Redskins
Seems to me like Allen is hoping for a team to suffer a QB injury and then try to trade KC similar to the Bridgewater deal last year. KC is gone, they fucked up.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
Solid? You don't know if someone can play until they get the chance. I'd rather roll with Colt this season then if they don't have any confidence Sudfeld can be a starter by the draft next year take a QB. Colt would only be an option for this year and possibly next depending on the results. I'd trade Kirk immediately for anything 3rd round or better.
