You must be new to the Redskins as a team if you think this is a one game critique. How many times has Brunell shown the leadership qualities and QB talent to win a game that was lost? Not enough for us to blindly believe he'll drag us back from the brink of a done season this early on. |

I am by no means a Brunell hater, but it would probably be a good idea to bring in Campbell so he can be groomed for the future. He isn't going to get better sitting on the sidelines, and with four losses this early in a tough schedule, our playoff hopes are but scrapped.

Re: The Season Is Over
It's kinda hard to hate on someone for lack of production when they hardly touch the ball. He averaged about 4.0 ypc and got 2 TDs; so he was productive when he had the ball, he just didn't get it a lot.

Re: The Season Is Over
Yes, the season is over.
Even with a win against Indianapolis, there is no way this team goes 8-2 to make the playoffs. I don't believe there's any magic pill for the defense. They simply are not good. It's almost the same defense that's been fielded the past two years, except with a few more "upgrades". Even with Springs coming back (who actually played fairly well on whomever he covered), there's nothing that's going to get that swagger back. I listened to the report on the way home from the game, and Rogers has a broken thumb, and Washington's hip injury is far worse than they are letting on. On the offense, Mark Brunell is done. I'm done being an apologist for him. He looks for Cooley or Moss, then he throws it away. If you look at the actual "play-making" QBs in this league, and yes they exist, they spread the ball around and make things happen. When he FINALLY threw to Brandon Lloyd's strength, look what happened, a big gain. I blamed Patten a lot last year for not catching passes or getting open, but Lloyd apparently is having the Patten syndrome himself. Eli Manning knows what to do. If you have a person who can go up and catch a jump ball, you throw it high in single coverage and let your playmakers make plays. Something needs to shake up this offense, and to be perfectly honest, I don't think Al Saunders is the ticket. They said it on the radio on the way home, this offense has no identity. Last year, it was smash mouth football that set up the deep pass. This year, and I'm quoting the radio: "It's like a new adventure with every series." Reverses on first down, three yard passes on first down, three yard outs on third and long? Where does it end? I PREFERRED Gibbs playcalling last year. I mean at least he played to the offense's strengths. Portis is your work horse, you run him and let the offensive line wear down the opposition, rather than forcing your team into three and outs by throwing consecutive passes. On a side note, my love for the Redskins lessened just a little bit yesterday. I know it's a loss, and I know I'd be pissed too, but there wouldn't be football without us fans. Now, I think I've made my opinion adamantly clear in the past on famous people's salaries, but that's neither here nor there. Dozens of people waited long after the game to maybe get some autographs or a picture taken with one of their favorite players. I think it's total 100% horseshit when a player cannot take five minutes out of his busy schedule to sign a few autographs. The people that I am naming in particular are Portis, Moss and Brunell. So you're a big star? I don't give a fuck. You should be wiping our asses considering the money we pay to pay YOU your millions. Apparently it's the backups who are the ones willing to give something back to the fans. Backups and Marcus Washington. Marcus Washington is one of the most selfless people I've seen in such a high profile position. He stayed at least twenty minutes signing autographs and taking pictures. He said, "OK guys, last one." at least twenty times, and always seemed to have another one in him. That's the type of player you want on your team. This behavior is win or lose. I've been there for wins and I've been there for losses, but always the first people out, without stopping for fans are Moss, Portis and Brunell. Chris Samuels, Renaldo Wynn and Rocky McIntosh, all get free passes because they all signed for a while. I just ask that the players remember where they came from and remember who TRULY pays their salaries. It wasn't the loss that made me lose a little love, it was more of a disillusionment with a few of the so-calling "stars" of this franchise that really pissed me off.

Re: The Season Is Over
The season is over and so is the easy part of the schedule. The skins will be lucky to go 1-2 over their next 3 games. This is a bad team. The coaching is bad and so are the players. I really blame this crummy season on the coaches as teams go top down and the mess starts at the top with Gibbs and goes down from there.

Re: The Season Is Over
Good lord, lads and ladies! The season ends when we are eliminated from playoff contention. We're eliminated when either the Cowboys, Giants or Eagles run away with the division. Some of you guys want to write the season off and we haven't even hit the halfway point yet. We played like crap last year in the beginning and we're playing like crap this year, too. Our great players have shown they can pull through and step up when all seems lost. We have a ton of talent on this team. It's not like we're the least experienced team on the field.
To make clear, I am very upset, frustrated, disappointed and whatever synonym you can think of with the way our season has gone thus far. Anyone watching Redskins football for the last 15 years should be a little more numb to this yearly occurence of Withering Hope. The one thing that makes us call ourselves fans is that we still are ready to wait for the day of perpetual celebration. It will come, just ask the REDS........ox.

Re: The Season Is Over
I'll say this. If I see a dominating performance in Indy on both sides of the ball, I'll feel a glimmer of hope. If we lose there, it's lost.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff.

Re: The Season Is Over
Take the finesse to the outhouse. Run the ball 30-35 times and your defense won't be on the feild long enough to give up 350 yds. This stinks!

Re: The Season Is Over
Good. Because he seemed to have busted out pretty damn quick from the stadium too. The second I got down to the exit, I saw him heading out in his truck.
If that's what it takes for them to get a fire under their asses, then so be it. But as it stands right now, even if we go undefeated from here on out, Brunell will be the reason we don't win the Super Bowl. HA. I can't even believe I just said Super Bowl.

We didn't move the ball versus the Bears or Dallas last year -This team seems to make no half time adjustments, unlike last year. What half-time adjustment did we make versus the Broncos, Chiefs, Giants (away), Chargers, Cardinals (I know we won that one thanks to Antonio Brown) or Tampa Bay.

I agree. In other words, leave Al Saunders in D.C.
