I want to scream this at the top my lungs...Jason Campbell SUCKS! I can't wait until the beginning of the 2010 season when he is not here.

Re: Will Jason Campbell return?

I have to agree with you. Even if Jason has a productive season he needs to go. He is not a west coast type of quarterback. Colt Brennan is that type of quarterback but he may not be ready yet. Next year or even this year he should get that shot. Is not like I don't like him I just believe that we will need a west coast type of qb to get this offense clicking. If Jim Zorn wants to stay and not get fired he better get his quarterback quick.

Even if he has a productive season he needs to go? Really?

I think the skins are going to have a great year. They will get either to the superbowl or the NFC championship game on Jason's back. He'll be the hottest free agent but we will franchise him.

What is a West Coast type of quarterback? Seriously. And how is Colt Brennan that QB and not JC? I mean, Cambpell is big, strong, mobile, and has a huge arm capable of making every throw. Seems to me he could fit in any system. It's not like he's a Manning/Marino type statue in the pocket. What is JC lacking that Colt has that supposedly makes him a "West Coast QB?"

Crazy, unquantifiable and ultimately untraceable intangibles.

I know I should "just walk away", but here we go again.....

Yes, even though JC's most productive season in college was in a WCO system ???? Even though he was being discussed as a Pro Bowl QB and even MVP in the first half of the season ????

Colt played in a WCO at Hawaii ???? The WCO normally requires a QB with an almost side-arm release, with sub-par arm strength, with little experience under center, and questionable decision making. Colt hasn't started a PRE-SEASON game yet. The NFL is a much different ball-game than the WAC. I don't see Colt beating out Collins for # 2.

C'mon you're throwing out the same tired mis-statements about JC. Bottom line is he improved his QB rating over 7 points from '07 to '08, with a worse OL than '07 and not much help at WR. If he does the same this year, he'll have a QB rating over 90, which is pretty darn good.

Wrong, they are quantifiable:

1. His name; COLT = Gunslinger, fast, dynamic, confident.

2. He wears a COOOOOL visor and full leg spandex in warm weather.

3. He set every college passing record known to man, and broke all of Timmy Chang's.

4. He wears # 5, same as Heath Shuler.

5. I'm pretty sure he can use telekenisis to make the ball curve around defenders into WRs hands.

Need I say more.

Quantify telekinesis...on the full leg spandex scale!

Re: Will Jason Campbell return?

we love to name drop "west coast offense" on this forum. There are so many variations of it at this point, i don't think it's practical to label a qb as West Coast capable.

Telekenisis, f'ing brilliant!! I wish I had been clever enough to make this post.

Really, I think a large part of "Colt Madness" is b/c of his way cool QB name... Colt... I just like saying it... Colt, Colt, Colt, Colt, Colt.... mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I always hear about how big & strong JC's arm is but most of the time I see him throw the long ball the WR has to either stop or slow down and wait for the ball to arrive. Maybe I'm missing something but that doesnt sound like a big arm to me.

You're missing something.

Outline some factual evidence to 'Jason Campbell SUCKS!' as you stated..

What games did he cost us last year?

What statistical evidence shows that he 'sucks' or even regressed last year?

Who else would you think gives the team a better chance to win this season?

What's your best case scenario for 2010, if Campbell's out then who is in?

I agree with you here, but shouldn't the same concept imply to outsiders judging a man's intangibles? We can't--literally are not reasonably capable--of seeing or evaluating intangibles. I have my questions that even the coaches, or other insiders, are capable of grading intangibles. So if coaches can't neccessarily see intangibles, and if we can't see them, do they matter?

This, essentially, is Matty's argument above.
