Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal

This is an EXCELLENT signing for multiple reasons:

First of all, we need a true nose tackle. This guy is a house and when he was healthy, he was a force up the middle.

Second, his value couldn't be lower. He can't run so most teams are scared and we swooped in.

Third, it is a low risk contract. There is little guaranteed money so if he doesn't get healthy no harm is done.

This is the type of move that Vinny never would have made. Vinny would have overpaid to get Williams in here.

If he recovers and returns to form, i'm sure he'll be getting a healthy extension in the future. Nevertheless, i still think (if we go OT with our 1st round pick), we should consider drafting a NT with our 2nd.

didn't this guy start out on balt??? real good low risk move and a big body to put in the d-line rotation. but if carolina is letting him walk then he must not be right.

My guess is he had a large roster bonus coming and a big contract, so they released him.

Carolina missed him badly at the beginning of last year, but by the end, they had figured out who needed to play where, and we're a very productive defense down the stretch without him.

That's probably why they let him walk. Player who was an integral part of their past defense, but his injury necessitated a change in philosophy. And then he really doesn't fit as any more than a spare part.

If he develops cancer, they'll give him Kemo-therapy.

When he visits Japan, he wears a Kemo-no.

Of course, in the Tibetan language, a Kemo is a female dog, i.e., a bitch.

What I find most encouraging about Kemoeatu is his durability, at least until last year when he was injured.

His four years in Baltimore he started 61 of a possible 64 games.....His three years in Carolina he started 46 of a possible 48 games. I dosen't get any better than that when it comes to games started. If he can get back on track completely he'll prove to be a very good addition to the team.

I was looking back at how he got hurt and apparently he injured himself during the first 30 minutes into the first day of camp. No contact involved.

Talk about a freaky thing.

Oh, another name for him would be, KemoEATU. I'm lovin this guy already.

Yeah, it was simular to Jon Jansen's injury, no contact, his ankle just caved in. Chris Cooley's injury last year was one of those non-contact injuries as well.
