Its a shame things didnt work out. He's our only good d-lineman (I know someone will go off about how Adam Carriker or some other player no coach wants starting is amazing...save your breath, you can't convince me). We need an impact player on the line, I feel like we do need him alot, but if we let him go I wont be THAT upset. If the coach feels there is a need for him to go, then there's probably a need for him to go, and I trust him in his decision making.

I agree with you 100% but even AH him self said after last yr he had to go and get in better shape. He wanted to come back and be a beast. He came back and looked as bad or worse. Simply look at the Cardinals game. He looked really bad. If I didn't know better I'd say he's old and useless or past his prime and needs to retire, but "if" he can get back in to playing shape and last 4 quarters then good for him.

I just think this was his plan all along ... come back out of shape and force the team to move him.

I feel the same way. Late in the season when injuries set in, as they always do and we need a stout difference maker on the D line to collaspe the pocket in a critical 3rd down pass play, we might live to regret dumping him. I am not talking about a big body to clog the middle. Hayensworth fills that role, non of of other DL can run over another top OL.
I want us to be careful not become Vinny Cerrato-like having a million WR's thinking a young WR is the magic pill that will solve all of our problems and no depth at other positions.

That makes (by my count) three of us. As much of pain in the ass Albert Haynesworth is, I shudder to think what our run defense is going to look like this year without him. Judging by what we've seen through exhibition, if I'm an opponent of the Redskins this year, all I do is run, run, and run some more. Run it right down their throats.

Then you have to examine what impact his loss will be to the double digit sack totals we had last year with Andre Carter and Brian Orakpo.

Sometimes you have to put up with the talented problem child to win in this league.

We will be vulnerable if he is dumped for low round picks.
That is exactly right.

Some people may not know but John Riggins was banished from the Jets for being a douchebag flake and he came here and was floundering until Gibbs arrived. Riggins even sat out a year in dispute with the team before Gibbs arived.
Dave Butz never ever participated in any offseason work outs or weight lifting regimen or Kumbaya events even though new coach Gibbs had just showed up and rallied everyone but Butz and Riggins to participate.
By todays' Shanahan standards they would be called malcontents and be black balled. Gibbs accepted them as is and won. There is no right and wrong in dealing with very talented problem childs just right and left.

Preach....I'd be, already am, very nervous about lining up Maake at NT for considerable time. From what I saw this summer, he's not ready. Don't know if it's that he's not fully healthy or what but if the Skins do plan on shipping Big Al out I hope they have another plan other than Maake

Truth...
I said it before. This notion that you have to treat everyone the same and manage them all similarly is garbage. Good managers manage people individually. Obviously Shanny wants to turn some things around. But I doubt at this point any player would mistakenly believe that the inmates are running the joint if Shanny gave in a little to get the situation on the tracks.

This whole saga has to be one of the most mismanaged player/personnel situations in recent NFL history. I can't remember anything like it.

Just wondering, where is it coming from that the titans are upset with Britt? Id like to think I'm very up to date on football news, but this is the first I'm hearing about this. btw, I would take Britt for Haynesworth straight up. I don't think we can do much better considering that he was being shopped around for a 3rd a few months ago before everyone knew how out of shape he is. I dont see why the market would go up from there.

The only breaking news here is that we have another BHA in the house in the form of aceinthehouse.

I hear you but new or old people need to hold off on the Breaking News threads until it is actually breaking news.

We are going into the season and we tend to forgot how quickly this forum can become a patchwork of false information very quickly.
