Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread

Game was ugly, but other than the turnovers and the o line, the team didn't play all that poorly. It is very hard to overcome a negative 2-3 in turnover ration in any game, with a blocked punt for a TD to boot. If say by weeks 3-4 wee haven't scored at least 21 in a game then we might have to worry a bit. This is RG III's make or break year in my opinion. He is either going to prove he was worth it or he is going to go the way of Shuler by sometime in 2015. We gave up a lot for him. To be honest we really needed some first round pics to get a solid line going. I sure hope we use our #1 for any position on the o line. Having a bunch of retreads isn't going to help your QB much.

I'm curious how Watt would have looked if he had to go against T. Williams. As I said before, not to take anything from Watt, but he went against two of the worst offensive linemen in the league (Polumbus/Chester)

Holy overreactions, kids. Let's see how things shake out over the first quarter given our new offense, new HC and new ST coordinator? We had two fumbles inside the opponent's ten and we weren't going against St. Mary's Special Needs Junior High School (aka Dallas's) defense today. Houston is a strong defensive side.

It's really telling and concerning when your lineman dont help you up. The problem isn't the oline, the problem is rg3's lack of vision and decision making.

I still feel like its twofold; the o-line sucks which makes RG3 suck. Not just because he's running around in the pocket, but because he naturally has terrible decision making when he's under pressure.

It kills me that the guy still doesn't seem to know when the right moment to throw the ball away is. But hey, at least he learned how to slide.

He didn't suck today. To me he just looks like the same guy as last year.

He didn't suck, that much is for sure. He's not the biggest issue of why we lost. Turnovers and special teams play accounts for most of that.

I'm kind of facepalming the people on twitter right now for calling for Jay to get KC in the lineup.

I know. I know the whole 'ifs and buts' thing but 2 turnovers inside the 10 yard line, a blown coverage and a blocked punt for a TD are the story of this loss, not RG3 holding the ball too long. People latch to a narrative and refuse to let it go in the face of reality.

If the 2nd half RG3 is who shows up every Sunday, I think there will be more smiles than whining around here. We also don't play JJ freaking Watt every week. Dude is only the best defensive player in the league so if he dominates Tyler Polumbus then you just take that for what it is.

It's 0-1, not 0-16. Live to play another week.

Very true, the frustration is same problems from last year showing up first game. We brought players and coaches to change that, we still see the same shit. I completely understand everyone frustrations.

If I could tell gruden one thing after that game, it would be run the damn ball

Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread

If I would see a consistent pocket that collapses due to RG3 holding the ball too long, I'd be blaming him 100%. Unless I was watching a different game, all I saw was the right side collapsing 95% of the time, not to mention players coming free at RG3 the whole time. It seems that every single PA pass, a Texans defensive players would come untouched at RG3.

RG3 has his flaws, but it is hard to say that it is just him when you don't see a pocket forming at all and see players coming at him untouched.

Until we have a decent line or RG3 gets completely with it, Gruden should make the running game the main focus of the offense and ask little of RG3.

Re: Skins vs Texans Gameday Thread

Always blaming the line on RG3 shortcomings is getting tiresome. Word's out on RG3's Achilles heel, you bring heat and he is to fold like a fcking pillow. Teams will bring heat and teams will be setting him up to throw INTs on those short passes.

I have seen enough qb play to know a dud when I see one. RG3 is destined to be an average at best in the NFL and the Skins cant afford someone drafted that high to be average.

RG3 will suck for long time to come folks.
