Well only time can tell the real story as to which group (WR vs OL) needs more help. I wanna believe in our braintrust (Bruce Mike and maybe Kyle) even through myriad gaffes we've seen. Mike in particular has shown the ability to build solid offensive lines, if fact I would say it's the one area where his historical performance is formidable. Let's hope he called this right and we see the oline gel together for our new franchise QB.

The offensive line, which was average last year, has experience now and should be much better by the start of the 2012 season. The offensive line does need help, but not significantly. They can play well in the trenches with who they already have.

To say "we can play well in the trenches with who we already have" has yet to be seen or proven consistently... That said, 4/5 O-line starters are solid, though not spectacular... J. Brown is the obvious weak link, making RT a position of clear need in the draft assuming D. Bell doesn't sign with us. If D. Bell does sign here, FS, CB and a slot WR become our top draft needs, in that order. If Bell doesn't sign, a RT should be our pick in the 3rd.

As for the WR's I don't see Gaffney leaving, Moss is 50/50 (maybe a June 1st cut), Hankerson is safe, and Garcon and Morgan are givens. The fact that we tried to sign Royal is bad news for Banks, Austin, and AA; and since we didn't sign Royal, I don't see why we wouldn't draft a slot WR/RS similar to Royal.

I think we keep 6 WR's: Hank, Garcon, Morgan, Gaffney, Draft Pick, Paul

gaffney saves us 3mill if cut. moss was injured last year and cutting him doesn't help us capwise at all, so between him and gaff, moss is more likely to stay on the roster. I doubt we waste a pick on another WR unless it's an A+++ returner... we already had a draft pick and 2 big signings.

paul also hasn't proven anything beyond his ability to run block a bit.

with our picks, i'm guessing well be looking heavily at DBs and OL types every single chance we get.

Both are sick and for the future. Morgan looked liek the best niner WR before he got hurt last year.
