Dallas fans wanted Tony gone too and look what happened last yr... They all started loving him after they saw how good he really is.. They got lucky with Dak and it wont last, he's not a good enough passer to keep up the success. I am disappointed in how many fans are already calling for Kirk and Jay to be let go...

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Best QB play in 20 years here except one year out of RG3. A few things one must look at the Redskin running game is erratic and has a habit of being non existent from time to time. We all know about how unreliable the defense is. Those are things that put extra pressure on a QB and gives an advantage to the opponent's defense knowing the Redskins have to throw, even in the red zone. You have a QB who threw for just short of 5,000 yards and a 97 rating.
Combine that with a weak college QB class and Colin Kaepernick being one of the better NFL free agent QBs (he will opt out of his contract)and one must think anyone thinking of letting Kirk walk is completely insane. If they still don't trust Kirk franchise him for $24 mil and pick up a QB next year as a few of this year's underclassmen might be worth a 2nd-3rd round shot next year. |

That may be the only way to go. I'd offer him 20x5 with some carefully tailored provisions, but I don't think he would take it. It will take us at least another year to get a good feel for whether a replacement is in the wings. Meantime, work like hell on the defense this OS and give careful thought to tagging KC again.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
the biggest disappointment I have with KC is two fold.....
1) he gets rattled & can't seem to shake it for the whole game 2) he threw that last INT off his back foot- the same silly shit he did last year So, if it those things haven't gotten better, why give him a long term raise? It will be interesting to see where the coaches weigh in...is Kirk successful because of his talents or is he successful because they've set him up to be? Colt McCoy & Sudfeld can miss the playoffs for us for a whole lot less than paying choke-boy a king's ransom. |

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
... to refuse to look at this performance to evaluate him is, in a sense, a form of denial.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
The contract situation seemed to be distracting him the whole season.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
I'll keep saying it. My solution will make everyone happy- sign Cousins to a long-term deal with an eye towards trading him if you find another qb that you think can take his place.
... what about this would make anyone unhappy? ... give or take or few little minor details |

Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
I was a Cousins supporter after leading last season's playoff berth, but the way he's handled his contract situation has rubbed me the wrong way. It seems this is more important to him than winning games and how the Redskins are doing. Yeah, get your money but stop acting like you're being disrespected because you're not being offered the $20 million that you think is fair. He should've just left that off the field.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Everyone says that it's just business when asked about it directly, including him. Then stop taking it personal. And if anyone, he should be taking this out on Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen directly and behind closed doors.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Cousins seems to have a big ego. He puts all his self worth in how big of a pay check he's getting. Money don't make the man. And if you feel disrespected on 5 years 100 million then you can take your crocodile tears somewhere else. Sorry you got drafted in the 4th round. Get over it. You still haven't won jack squat to deserve more than that.
I wonder if after the game SM walked up to Kirk and rubbed him on the head disrespectfully and screamed something in his face. Maybe something like nice pass asshole.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
I'd rather him say- the Redskins are my team and hopefully everything goes great with negotiations with my agent and the team because I want to be here. And I'd rather him say it genuinely but if it's not sincere, I'd take that too.
