Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?

Lets see 3 years 30 catches for a little over 300 yards. I think we could go to a high school pick a WR and get more production. Hes outa here.

I agree that he came up big for us last year in clutch times but if it had not been for moss and portis our offense would be been non-existent.
Just an observation,
I (personally) have not heard anyone suggest that Brunell is the long term solution. The Skins have not hesitated to announce to the media at every oppurtunity that JC is the future of the francise. Time will if Brunell gets replaced this season. I do agree that Brunell did come up BIG for us last year. I also agree that if you take away the entire recieving, and rushing corps, that would present an Offensive dilemma. What team would it not?

ya he did. i think its too late to trade him though. his advantages are his speed, but he cant break away from defenders. his hands are decent but not consistent. much like antonio brown who could break away from defenders but couldnt catch the ball. see the ravens preseason game . --------------------------- CUT

The first cowgirl game comes to mind immediately. M. Brunell had/has zip on those throws downfield!

Speaking of Patten!

Besides the obvious physical things he did on the field, as well as keeping drives alive totally on his own innovation, and will, he solidified a position with leadership skills the team desperately needed. He is not the answer forever, but he surprised a lot of people.

Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?

I wouldn't doubt that it's true, Gibbs puts a lot of stock in special teams and Jacobs is a better special teamer, as well I don't believe he will sacrifice ST's for a #4 option at reciever, Gibbs has also been complimentry towards Jacobs in the past where as I am sure he's not overly happy about Patten complaining some last season. With that said I think Jacobs has a real chance to make the team but he has to step up no more excuses!

the entire offense? I named 2 guys one that was a first year player for washington and portis second year you seem to forget about the offensive line and the other key contributors of that team it wasent as if brunell was taking the ball and running with it, his play makers came up big when they had to, in the win against dallas brunell threw up 2 hail marry passes to moss and it wasent like they were the prettyiest balls more of 2 prayers and santana scortching the secondary with speed. Lets not forget about the games(particularly) the last few games of the season where it was our defense not brunell who kept us in games.

The fact is we shouldn't have been in a position to need 2 miracle passes agaist the boy's, Brunells incompetence brought that on, the fact is Dallas had no belief whatsoever that Brunell could make those throws thats why they covered Moss with R Williams which is no match as they found out.

Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?

Adam Schefter reports that it's David Patten that may be a June 1 casulty. Obviously if he isn't, then Jacobs goes, but if neither of them is gonna play anyway, why not keep the younger guy?

I could see Patten getting the axe, but I don't see how Jacobs escapes it this time. Jacobs had every opportunity to make the case for himself after Patten and Thrash went down. He was as pathetic and inept as ever.

Exactly! That's all we've been trying to say to you. Your opinion of Brunell, my opinion of Brunell all that is irrelevant here. Regardless of who the QB is for the team it's on Jacobs and only Jacobs to prove he belongs. I think he has much less of a chance than you do but that's just me

Re: Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?

As far as Brunell, what can you say? I mean, think of how good Jacksonville would be if they didn't draft Leftwich and kept Brunell around 3-4 more years. It's not like Leftwich will bust or anything. He's just not what Brunell has been and still is.

I had never really been of the give the coach the benefit of the doubt school of thought, but even 7 months before I joined this here site, I decided that the only reason that Gibbs would make Brunell the starter with a healthy Ramsey is because he knew (and trusted) Brunell far better than anyone else could hope to. So that was the first time ever I gave a coach the benefit of the doubt when I would have done the opposite thing.

10 wins later, I really can't complain about the results. There is close to NO reason to expect a Brunell drop off this season. He's a top 50 QB of all time (I know it sounds farfetched, but make a list and you'll see what I mean), and we were lucky that Jacksonville was willing to part with him so easily, even if he couldn't play in 2004.

Well, if offiss is backing him, I'd say he is pretty much gone given offiss' track record on backing the right horse.

Actually, if I was on the Skins and heard that offiss was hyping me, after my cry of despair, i would simply back my bags and go.
