Exactly, hopefully we keep those high draft picks to get someone. I wouldn't throw our 1st rounder on a lineman, but we can definitely find quality guys in the 2nd, and 3rd rounds.

Jets Deal Unhappy O-lineman Kendall

What makes me feel great is the choice of words in the first two paragraphs. Let's pick a few out, shall we?

Acrimony
Bickering
Disgruntled
Upset
Railed
Grievances
Dispute

All used to describe a 34-year old football player.

Gives me goosebumps all over.

Honestly, I'd use our first AND second on offensive line next year. If our defense can hold up this year and prove something. I would love to use our early picks on the best tackle (first round) and guard available. The Ravens got Ben Grubbs, arguably the best offensive linemen in the draft besides Thomas, in the late first round.

I'd be more nervous if we signed him to a seven year deal. But as a stop-gap for a couple seasons, I can't imagine he'll cause that many problems, if any.

He just got his raise. I think he'll be fine.

Yeah, I want to see how things work out this year, because I think we might be able to keep this line together for another year or two, but I have a feeling we are going to need our 1st round pick for a DE, because opposite Carter we have Daniels who is 34, and Wynn who is 32, and I don't think they're going to be in the league much longer. However youth at the O-line is very important.

Re: KENDALL to the Redskins (confirmed)

The fact that it's a 1 or 2 (at the most) year deal makes me VERY okay with this. He's a vet so he should pick up on things quickly, and he's been in Jets training camp so I'm sure he's in game shape. I hope the "undisclosed mid-round draft pick" is a 5th rounder and not a 3rd or 4th...

With this acquisition this has to give us the most depth on the offensive line in the NFL with Wade, Fabini, Tucker, all former starters, we are set for now on the o-line once Samuels returns.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Apart from Wade I'd say those guys are on the bubble to even make the team. I like the move, but hardly thinks it gives the Skins the most O-Line depth in the league.

For me, I feel like it's very rare when there's a "can't miss" DE. Mario Williams was supposed to be as "can't miss" as they come and he hasn't been anything but average. It always seems like it's the second and third round pick project DEs that seem to impress.

I agree DE's in the 1st round are usually hit or miss, but we are going to have to do something at the LDE spot wether it be in the draft, or FA.

Re: KENDALL to the Redskins (confirmed)

Espn.com is reporting he has three years left on his deal. 2007 1.7 million (I believe we raised to 2.7 million), 2008 2.3 million, and 2009 2.9 million. Not bad at all for a starting guard. Hopefully we can get three good years from him.

Name another team that has 3 offensive lineman coming off the bench that were former starters and dont forget Fabini was a solid tackle for the Jets at one point.

While that does concern me, I don't recall any issues with him at Arizona or Seattle. Plus, he's from Mass, and playing in NY, who wouldn't be a little irritated!
I think it's a great pickup. 5th rounder is nothing special, and we now have valuable depth. Whether he's a starter or not, he's worth it.

My major concern is that Bugel / Gibbs doesn't like Wade right now and wanted a plan b.

Fabini and Kendall started together in 2004 on the left side of that Jets line, when Curtis Martin ran for nearly 1700 yards.
