Ok, lets give it a try. Here is what I know how to use.

-Make and receive calls.
-Check msg. and call history.
-Can take and view pics. but I cannot send them or transfer them to
anything.
-I can store peoples # but it seems I have to learn how every time I try
to store one.

I think thats it. Your turn.

LOL

- Make and receive calls.
- Check message and call history.
- Take, view, and send pics.
- Store numbers easily.

But I don't understand which features I can't click into without getting a $2 data charge on my bill. That crap pisses me off, I get charged just for goofing around on my phone!

But all these apps and smart phones and IPhones and all this stuff, I don't get it. I see my phone as a tool, not some cool thing to play with.

That said if you put one in my hand I'd probably be like a kid on Christmas. Until someone does though, I'll make my calls and texts, hike up my pants real high, and drink my metamucil.

That's just it. I used to be the same way. But once you try it out the iPhone there's no going back. It's so much more than just a phone.

Re: iPhone

Just discovered "Remote." If your iPhone is on the same the network as your computers, you can use your phone as a remote control for your iTunes. Unreal. I equate the iPhone to killing ants with a bazooka.

the amazing thing is, it is absolutely not a joke. I looked around and read about it. Apparently it works. Whenever I'm outside, I'm always the first person to get eaten by mosquitos. I'm really looking forward to trying it.

How is it as a phone though? Because my wife has an iPhone and she loves everything about it, except when she actually has to use it as a phone. She's had numerous problems with it. The latest is that voice mail messages left for her don't actually appear on her phone until several days later and missed calls don't show up.

On a related note, does anyone have the Palm Pre? Any thoughts?

I think this largely depends on the network in your area. My wife manages all of the phone accounts (on the tech side) at her company, and they use AT&T. She loves the iPhone, but around here, the 3G AT&T network is absolute garbage. I've always been a blackberry user, still am because of work, but there's no comparison between the two. iPhone kicks blackberry's ass all day, every day.

I haven't had any issues yet. Granted I've only had it for less than a week, but I've received and placed a few dozen calls without issue, and received a few voicemails without any problems either. I've used it with and without my bluetooth. I've also had more than one person tell me I sound more clear than I did when using my old phone.

Maybe your wife got a lemon. I haven't talked to any iPhone owners who have had phone-related issues.

Re: iPhone

Two must have apps are google and remote. The google app doesn't require you to type your search, just speak it. The voice recognition is excellent. Pretty sweet.

Remote is sick. If your iPhone is connected to the same network as your computer, you can pair your phone with your iTunes and use it as a wireless remote control.

Both apps are free.

I must say, this iPhone is the best gadget purchase I've made since I first bought an HD television.
