I hate like hell to change to another configuration.....need the consistency and we do not need the delay that our guys will experience while they acclimate to the new system not to mention those that will not be a good fit.
And YES, gut the secondary or none of this matters......

re: Hey Ho, Haslett has to go! (or maybe not)
Let him go after the season and focus on drafting/signing defensive starter secondary help and depth in the front 7.
Its a combination of not great coaching and severely lacking talent. There is only so much I could see being done with the players we currently have and the injuries. Fresh start on D next year seems like the best plan to me. |

This defense would look worlds different with Orakpo, Carriker, Tanard jackson, and Merriweather. but I don't think Haslett will survive till next year without a massive turnaround. |

Two names that I am interested in Keith Butler and Ron Rivera (if he is fired after the season is over). Ron's 3-4 team in San Diego was very good, he was great with adjustments.

Ron Rivera's an interesting choice. Hadn't heard he's on our radar, but not a bad idea

Yes, he would be my #1 choice if the Panthers fire him.

He'll definitely be in high demand. I hope we'll be all over that.

re: Hey Ho, Haslett has to go! (or maybe not)
I agree. Crazy to think Ron Rivera might be done after two years as the Panthers coach. Are their problems really that bad? I think they need to run the ball more on offense, but that's only because I have Jonathan Stewart in ff. Either way, if Rivera is available after the season I'd definitely bring him in for an interview, minimum.

re: Hey Ho, Haslett has to go! (or maybe not)
i'm submitting my vote based on the notion that haslett has lost fletcher, alexander, and wilson (at the very least). fire him now and use the bye to it's fullest potential. morris gets my vote

Agreed on Haslett. Has Slowik ever done anything as DC? Rather not Morris, but I can't imagine anything or anyone making our D any worse. I suppose a Juan Castillo vote might earn a lifetime ban?
