There's things a really like about our corners. They're tough, both Wilson and Hall will punish the ball carrier, take out bigger guys and even create some fumbles. And they're good out corner blitzes and getting to the QB. I give them some leeway because both are undersized vs most #1 WRs. Springs was our last corner who could cover basically anyone (long as Springs was healthy), and we need a guy like that again. But FS is still the biggest need defensively and where we'll get the biggest bang for the buck. If Jammer is a prospect at FS (per Smoot) I'm excited. Quentin Jammer, DB for the San Diego Chargers at NFL.com If we sign him, you have to think either he or Hall is headed to FS, and I give Jammer the nod just because he's got the size/reach advantage. DeAngelo Hall, DB for the Washington Redskins at NFL.com Hall would be a serious ball hawk at FS but get trucked from time to time and probably gamble too much.

If we sign/draft two safeties does that mean Ratard Jackson and B Merriwether are donzo? I figured one of those two guys would pan out and be starting week one...

Re: Official Redskins Off-Season News & Rumors-Part Trois
I think the Redskins are going to draft either Phillip Thomas or D.J. Swearinger. That said, it would be a good idea to keep Meriweather and Jackson for depth with possibly Meriweather starting at SS. We can't be mad at Jackson anymore. He's served his suspension and hopefully he can contribute once he's officially reinstated by Goddell.

What's that Mark Twain saying? "If you don't like the weather in New England, wait five minutes."
Same concept for DJ and Thomas. I happen to think it'll be between Wilcox (my pick) or Duke in round 4.

Re: Official Redskins Off-Season News & Rumors-Part Trois
SS what are you hearing on the buzz that we may go WR in the 2nd round? Draft week smokescreen or legit buzz. While S & CB are bigger needs, I don't see anyone on our WR group outside of Garcon who's not replaceable in 2014 with a draft pick. Even if it's not in the 2nd, I'd like to see us come away from rounds 2-5 with at least one WR and one speed RB.

TJax cannot even be in the building until the very end of August, making him unlikely as a week one starter.

Re: Official Redskins Off-Season News & Rumors-Part Trois
So you're thinking offensive playmaker in Round 2 (perhaps Justin Hunter), either DJ Swearinger or Phillip Thomas in Round 3, and either JJ Wilcox or Duke Williams in Round 4. Is that right?
