Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
This team needs a guy who can spark the offense much like how Cam has done for the Panthers. Im guessing we will have a lower teens draft pick and in good position to find a QB. Finding a solid no 1 receiver whether its through FA or the draft should be a close priorty behind QB.
We need to get some serious depth at Safety as well. Laron and OJ cant seem to stay on the field together. Reed is a nightmare. Haslett should be embarrassed in how he prepared the D today. Really poor. Id consider seriously cutting Barnes. Another f*cking bullshit pick. Guy is pos player

Promising news: Kelli Johnson just said X-rays and initial tests on Hightower's knee were negative.

Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
I don't think this team will be poor every week. They're just not consistent. One week we're going to see a game like today's, another week we're going to see us go toe to toe with a team better than us. I'm just preparing myself to "stay medium" week to week. One thing's for sure though, in between the injuries and bad play I don't expect us to go on a run this season.

No matter what we need to split our division. We beat the Giants. Lost to the Cowboys and Eagles. As long as we win the next games with the Cowboys and Eagles we can afford to lose to the Giants. But I'd rather beat then twice since now they are up on top of the division. |

Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
I thought he was active today. But I think Barnes was playing a lot of safety today.

Re: Carolina Panthers vs Washington Redskins Gameday Thread
Thought Doughty was starting at safety? Barnes may have been playing there. I just don't think we have a better option than him at CB right now. Blah.

In fact, we were in a death match with the Cards at home in week two. We haven't looked anywhere near as good as we did against the Giants in the opener. |

You want T.O? You figure out what returns he'll give you and whether it's ****ing worth it over the other options you already. His short-term production is also going to be hindered because of his lack of practice in the offense. For the long-term here's T.O's ability to reach that "upper echelon" status and how many more years he's going to play. Well, he's never going to be what he was in his 20s anymore, so the chance of that is a big goose-egg. T.O is not likely to make it past 40; he might not even play this year. Hankerson will probably provide less in the short-term, but at least he might become SOMETHING in the long-term. It's an absolute certainty that T.O will not be playing for long in the NFL and his injury. We're a rebuilding team and need all the LONG-TERM assets we can grab. That means we should look at as many guys as possible that might provide long-term value, Hankerson being one of them. This doesn't apply only to Hank, but every rookie we draft and pick up from UDFA. They ALL have a chance at providing more long-term upside than T.O. Our strategy should about finding "franchise players", not quick fixes that don't stick for more than 3 years. If Hank bombs, fine, let's question the scouting. But I won't be scared of taking another potential WR in the 3rd round simply because Hank failed. It's a a strategy worth executing because "franchise" players are just that valuable.
