Interesting though probably not significant in the long run

Per Michael Phillips RTD on early observations so far at camp:

“Buy stock in TE Cole Turner now! He looks great”

Has EB found his TE?

If Turner can contribute this year, that would be huge. Thomas and Bates don't inspire confidence in the passing game. Hopefully Thomas, further removed from his injury can return to 2021 levels. But not holding my breath on that one.

Cool to see and read some of the action/reports for the day. Can't wait to see the team progress and gel through the summer.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

Our QB (wentz and Heinicke lol) Line (couple picks n quality signings), WR’s (dotson a year older and hopefully Samuel healthy), TE (Cole n Thomas hopefully healthy), RB’s (B-Rob all year and C-Rod), and OC (Turner LMAO) all should, I repeat should, be better. Literally our entire unit.
On D Chase comes back, Mathis finally on the field, our D-backs, slight improvement at LB, Allen and Fucking Payne.

If this team doesn’t reflect those changes on the field and stays relatively healthy it is 110 % time to move on from Ron.

I honestly think Ron will have to get us to the playoffs, at a minimum, to have a chance to be around in 2024. I am buying that Bienemy will have a good effect on the offense, although I'm hearing oline isn't looking so hot thus far.

The oline is my biggest concern. I was hoping that would end after the draft but……

Thank God Sam can run.

Reports aren't great so far. Even the rookies aren't looking so hot. Super disappointing but let's be concerned in camp and hope moves are made.

I'm not sure how much you can glean, or how you can get an accurate evaluation, from watching O-linemen work in shorts & t-shirts - Probably next to nothing...

We'll know more when they put on the pads and they have to deal with that D-line. Until then, I'm not putting too much stock into any of the "reports".

Ben Standig with BSJ

Insightful quote from BSJ on defending this new offense: "A lot more explosive plays, a lot of different routes that we didn't see. It's less conservative in certain areas. Maybe you think on 3rd and short they're going to do this... And you see the ball thrown 40 yards over your head, and you're like, oh, snap. This is what we want. We want an explosive offense that can create plays from everywhere."

Let’s go

Dotson, Turner, and Logan Thomas balling out so far. Weapons galore. Just hope the oline holds up. Like what Howell can bring to the table.

Heard it's close between him and Brissett, although Howell will get the green light to start assuming he looks decent in camp. Brissett is more of a game manager and will protect the ball. We have the receivers to air it out. Expect a lot of screens and quick releases especially with potential oline issues.
