Not at all - I'm sure Lions fans have the same confidence for the same reasons...

The Lions are going to throw a ton - everyone knows that. I'd expect to see an aggresive rush to counteract that, rather than Nickel and Dime coverage.

Extra fan support from section 309 should make the difference.

If we're only gonna score 24 pts this Sunday there's probably not much sense in taking the field.

I hope your right. If they don't let this kid start doing his thing, I'm going to do something.....just don't know what.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

Something that I just thought of made me a very happy man. Since the Lions like to pass, and run a bunch of plays with the 4 WR set....We could see some huge hits from the FS/SS this weekend. YEAH!!!!

Skins 21
Lions 17

Skins will run, run, and run some more. Skins secondary matches up fairly well against this team. Combine that with FedEx home field and they should win this one.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

im gonna go with King's prediction

"Game of the week. Jason Campbell and Jon Kitna stand 10 paces apart and have a good old-fashioned shootout. So why, with the Redskins averaging 198 passing yards and the Lions 313, do I choose Campbell to win? Simple. Better secondary on his team. Roy Williams, have your head on a swivel Sunday. Those two safeties are looking to add a few tattoos to you."
Redskins 30, Lions 27

We came out firing in the second half of the NY game...that didn't work out too well.

It's amazing to me that a lot of people are talking about "coming out firing". That's not redskins football. Run the ball, control the clock, play solid defense. Yeah, you take your occasional shot down the field for a big play, but you don't "come out firing".

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

Totally Chief.
We lose an aerial shootout.
and with Moss nicked?
That plays completely to Martz specialties, and they have demonstrated that is their forte' as well. We do not have a good handle on that yet. We win if we can keep their "Chuck and Duck" off the field with..................Redskins football..............power running and...ball control

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

I think the skins D will show up pressuring Kitna to make bad decisions. The D will have a few turnovers I'll say 3 or 4 which will lead to at least 14 points. The Skins will control the ball with power running. They will convert 3rd downs and keep Kitna and the number 1 passing offense off the field. I think we will also see some trickery on offense, I expect maybe a Randle El pass or a flea flicker. Go Skins.

Skins win 31 to 21.

There. I fixed your post to help you see the aggressiveness/error in our offensive execution. You're welcome.

It's impossible to have anything done on offense when your FIRST FIVE PASSING CALLS OF THE HALF NET -2 YARDS! Were the calls bad? Entirely opinional, and not really relevant. Campbell hasn't been good for us this year. I think the bye week will have helped him a lot and he will be a lot sharper on Sunday.

Generally the best solution to an anemic passing offense is not to be MORE aggressive and thats the point I've been trying to make. The passing game was awful in the 3rd quarter, why should we have opened it up?

What is that? Half of the third quarter and half of the fourth quarter? Either way it is still more passes than runs. Even JCs run was a pass play.

No question that there was a lack of execution. My point being..it sounds like we came out and just abandoned the run game altogether and that's not the case.

From the 3rd qtr: RPP..punt...PRP..punt...RRP..punt....RR...fumble

Sitting there watching the game i thought we were too conservative w/ the lead. My point w/ the play by play was to contradict the statement that we were coming out firing.

I think we can both agree there was no execution anywhere.

It was the beginning of the 2nd half (the 1st time we got the ball), up to the point where we basically had to throw. I'm counting 6 runs v 5 passes, up to that point, not that it matters...
