redskins need to draft this guy in the 5th or 6th round, he's also a decent cover corner as well with good size

Re: Updated: Evaluating the QB Situation (Discuss Campbell, Colt, etc)

Zorn was horrid at play calling 70% of the time

O-line couldn't block my little sister and her friends.

recievers were sub-par, and that may be an over-statement.

we barely had a pass rush, jason taylor had one good game if that.

Moss should have been returning WAY more punts.

when the line was healthy, and not beat up, JC was doing fine.

he only got worse because of the line.... and..... every QB misses some throws, and miss open receivers when the coach is telling u to go elswhere with the play-call....

i hardly blame him at all.

i'd lay 20% of the blame on Campbell.

no more no less.

if thomas and kelly can step it up this season, then i see no reason to not make santana the permanent punt returner.

Weird bump.

Anyway, S.Moss would be a lethal punt returner. But I agree with keeping him as a WR only. Seriously now -- Moss is our ONLY wide receiving threat. We kept Darrell Green healthy enough to retire at 42years old because we only used him sparingly as PR.

That being said, here's ARE's stats from last year:

Randel El: 6.5 yds/return last year, no TDs in THREE YEARS
He was 21st in return average

Perhaps it's not as bad as we think -- Devin Hester averaged 6.2yds in 2008. Anyway, I sure hope ONE of the new guys can return punts. It's simply sad that the coaches simply don't trust anyone else to field punts & not fumble them. I can't take another year of watching ARE jump around.

Re: Updated: Evaluating the QB Situation (Discuss Campbell, Colt, etc)

Vinny needs to upgrade the O-line with a strong running game, to camouflage JC's deficiencies. That's what got us to 6-2 this past season. It wasn't anything that JC did that got us that 6-2 record, it was our O-line doing an excellent job of opening up holes for CP, in spite of JC's weak performance on the field. JC had a couple of excellent plays throughout the year, that's all. It was because of his lack of getting the ball down field and inability to score that made over 50% of those games...nail biters.
It was our Defense that won those games. It was the Defense that was mostly responsible for getting us that 6-2 record.
I hope JC at least learns to throw the ball down field more often and stops locking onto his primary receiver this off season. I don't care how many systems you have played in, that's something that should be second nature to him...jeez!
Oh well, it should be an interesting season next year but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for JC to be an NFL QB and Vinny to actually get it right...for once.

Right. 0 INTs and a QB rating hovering around 100 through 8 games had nothing to do with the 6-2 start. Hell, Jaws even had JC as his MVP up through that point of the season.

Zorn has already pulled Campbell out of locking on.
They threw the ball down the field more during the first half, when pressure on Campbell was not heavy.
Zona game would not have been a nail biter if Heyer didn't get a penalty that negated a Devin Thomas TD.
Also, if it were all CP, why do I see plenty of pass plays being called and many of them resulting in successful completions along with an avg. greater than 7 yds during that stretch for Campbell?
