Re: 2010 Combine

Has anyone's draft stock really dropped from not throwing at the combine?

Re: 2010 Combine

Belicheck is definitely a D coach first.

Back to Tebow, good points yall about INdy & NE. NO would be a good fit too in terms of the situation, but there style might be a bit more vertical than he's cut out for. Actually, I don't know what style of O fits him at this point when I think about it. His release is slow for a west coast O. His deep ball isn't very accurate.

I don't know if he has an ideal landing spot in terms of the syle of offense, but would benefit being on a team that has a stable starter. Although that's not us, I wouldn't be made if Tebow was there in the 4th & we nabbed him. Don't see him being around that long tho.

I don't really know, but generally there is some sort of medical reason that is used to prop it up, or in Tebow's case working on a new rhythm. To come out and say he doesn't want to throw except to his receivers would send the wrong message to the teams, in my opinion.

Re: 2010 Combine

Plenty of guys without medical reasons don't throw at the combine.

Peter King was talking about it this morning and basically said the scouts get pissed off but then draft day comes and these guys still get taken in their expected spots.

So for all the combine hype regarding guys that choose not to throw, it doesn't really hurt them come draft day.

Re: 2010 Combine

I suppose it depends on the FO, Tom Coughlin was on Sirius, and said that it was not a good thing, because he wants to see a competitive spirit, or something along those lines.

Re: 2010 Combine

Yeah they toss around the competitive angle, but again come draft day I doubt it plays a big part in the overall decision making process for most. Phillip Rivers opted out of throwing at the combine, and I don't think anyone questions his competitiveness today.

Perfect situation for him to learn and grow behind the best QB in football. The guy says all the right things about work ethis and stiving to get better. If I were him I would be begging for a chance to learn from the best in Peyton. Indy needs a backup and Tebow would be a good fit. He gets a chance to sit and learn and if he pans put then The Colts would probably be able to get good value for him if they ever wanted to trade him in a few years. Tebow also doesn't have the pressure of having to ebcome a starter any time soon.
That could be a good fit for him.

EDIT - reading some of the other responses, I think NE would actually be perfect fit for Tebow. I hadnt thought of Indy, but I don't think their Caldwell and Moore are creative enough to take advantage of him. We all know Peyton Manning runs the offense there. If Moore called a play that involved Tebow coming on the field, Manning would ignore him. If Moore called a package that required manning to leave the field and Tebow to come in, Manning would just tell him to screw off and not a single player on offense would listen to Moore over Manning. The potential for ugliness is just too great there.

Brady, on the other hand, is a company man and does what he's told. Love him or hate him, Belichick is an offensive genius and would find a way to get the most out of Tebow.
why would there be a rush to get him onto the field in some sort of package?

are you thinking that they'll use him like Vick? I don't see why Indy would do that

Re: 2010 Combine

Tied it? Oh ok

No specific details really. Just heard that he made no excuses about last season, put it all on himself (there were some rumblings that he was quick to make excuses). He'll throw at the combine as well

Some mocks last year were predicting we'd take Hiller this year. Since then I've read he doesn't have an NFL arm.

Re: 2010 Combine

I don't think he does either. Certainly not one that would explain his 6'5" 228 lb frame
