Re: Does character count?
I find it kind of ironic that Rosenhaus has all these great things to say about Snyder, and what a great negotiator he is, and wished there were more Dan Snyders in the league, and repay's him by having his client who is under contract sit out.

Re: Does character count?
woah woah woah. i just heard that because nobody wants freddie mitchell and are going to trade for him, the eagles are gonna release him. they said he might end up in washington. i for one do not want that trash talking idiot on our team. he will make washington look bad. especially after his fat mouth still trash talked about rodney harrison after r.h. made more catches than him in the super bowl (rodney had 2 interceptions, mitchell had one catch)

Re: Does character count?
Because the NFC East recycles everyone's garbage. It is terrible how we keep these lame players in the NFC East.

Re: Does character count?
No way Gibbs would have him on this team.

Re: Does character count?
Freddie Mitchell is the LAST player that would ever end up here in DC. No way, no how. He's not a Joe Gibbs guy.

Jon Jansen is the longest-tenured Redskin player and a team captain. He has a right to call out teammates if he feels they're letting their teammates down, either on the field or off of it. In fact, I'd say as a senior leader of the team, he has a responsibility to his teammates to promote the rules and principles the coach has laid-out as a roadmap for his team. What was one of the first admonitions Coach Gibbs made to his players when he gathered them for their first team meeting? "Don't embarrass the Redskins." Sean Taylor put himself in a position to be arrested for DUI in the middle of the season, and make a public mockery of Gibbs' behavior policy. Whether he was found innocent of the charges or not is immaterial at this point (do you think you or I would have escaped those charges so easily?). The damage was done when Taylor was arrested, and that event was the direct result of Taylor's immaturity, irresponsibility and lack of accountability. As for TO, I don't think his comments about McNabb even remotely resemble any form of leadership, or promote team unity, or reinforce the principles of the coach. Owens might be a veteran and an established star in the league, but you don't enhance team chemistry by spending less than a year with a team before calling out its most popular and affable player, and holding out for a new contract. That's not being a team player, and it's sure as hell not leadership. |

Re: Does character count?
Very well put joecrisp! TO while supremely talented is also supremely immature as a vet. I think ST will come around and he has been getting some bad advice from others. I am not saying he isn't at fault, but TO has done crazy stuff in his years in the league and hasn't learned a thing from them. Hopefully Sean will get on the right foot here soon.

Re: Does character count?
T.O. there or not has on of the strongest off season work outs of all. People he works out with says its more than camp. Sure he should be there, but won't be the first time he hasn't been there or the last.
