Honestly though how in the hell was SD 2-4 and coming in at 13 last week? Their two wins coming by the skin of their teeth over Detroit and the Browns? Does ESPN just pick names out of a hat?

Lol yeah, deciding to go into a season with a Hoyer-Mallett combo has really paid off for them so far.

I dont fault a 22 year old sitting on a sudden pile of money for saying stupid things but .... unless you are a Brady, Manning, etc. you are going to have to find a new job at some point.

I imagine the percent of players who declare bankruptcy after they retire is a lot higher for guys who write at a 5th grade level like Watkins does. Brunnell excluded though I have only heard him speak, not write.

Enjoy life for now Mr. Watkins. Yes you are king of the hill but i wouldnt go attacking all of us "fans" while you are up there.

------------------------------------------

Skins look to be in a really good cap position next year. We were about 7 mil under cap this year so that gets carried over. With RG3 coming off the books, carrying over the 7 mil plus expected cap increase .... 28 mil in cap space before even addressing jackson, hatcher, hall, goldson, roberts etc ...

"That means that they potentially could go into the league year with $53.3 million in cap space."

Looking ahead: Redskins should have substantial salary cap space in 2016 | Rich Tandler's Real Redskins

Bruce did right with salary figures pre Scot.

Re: Around the NFL- Week 7

^ I don't see us re-signing Hatcher or Roberts, barring some more significant contributions from them this season. I also suspect we may not re-sign Knighton either for the same reason. That's a decent bit of money saved right there. It will be interesting to see what Scot does if we do have real cap money; he's a build the team through the draft kind of guy, and I don't have a real sense of what would happen if we could splurge a bit.

Have to jump in a little bit here with Brunell. His bankruptcy and the way they report it is really over-blown. Brunell, along with a few others, were talked into buying a derelict / abandoned shopping center in Jacksonville. Their intention was to revitalize /renovate it. When the Jacksonville real-estate market went bottoms up in 2010/2011, Brunell's "co-investors" basically bailed on him, leaving Mark responsible for paying the mortgage. He paid for as long as he could, but as he explained, it was putting his family's financial future in jeopardy by continuing to use his personal money to pay for the shopping center. So he filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy. His home and personal assets were not affected. Brunell is an educated guy but one thing he will admit to not being educated about was the real estate market. The way he describes it, he was basically "suckered" with the strip-mall thing.
