Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
There are throws here that our recent past QBs simply couldn't or wouldn't make. Sorry, have to click on it to watch on YouTube.

Lotta great throws in that video.... a lot of good evasive maneuvers... and about 70 penalties flags that come when he's wearing burgundy and gold 😅😅😅😅😅😅🤣🤣

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
Our base D really isn’t 4-3 anyway, it’s been more of a 4-2-5 under JDR

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
Even if we run 2 LB sets 100% of the time we still have no depth and are PRAYING J. Davis makes a huge leap in year 2.
LB was a weakness last year and we’ve done nothing to address it so I’m assuming it will once again be a weakness

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
Jamin Davis balling out would do wonders for this defense. So many talented defensive players didn't live up to their billing last season that need to turn it around. Loads of talent. I expect to see more 5 man fronts also which is why I think they didn't go after more lbs. Hope they do soon. Fully expect the defense to be better. Think the rookies also (Mathis, Butler, Holmes) will help. Butler is supposed to have crazy range. Mathis adds to an already uber talented line.

And like has been said we have zero depth, so zero rotation, and one injury means David Mayo is the QB of your defense. We'll talk about it again when we're getting gashed up the middle for 60 minutes several weeks in a row. Envoyé de mon SHV48 en utilisant Tapatalk

No doubt we could use more depth at LB. I’m sure they will bring someone in soon.

Surprised nobody talked about the fight song yet. It doesn't matter what wins - everyone is still gonna sing HTTR anyways. With that being said both options suck and do nothing but remind me of the Redskins.

But I'm still amazed that after giving zero f*cks about the fans' opinions regarding the name, they are making us vote on emoflags (or whatever that was called) and a couple of words in the fight song ("fight for our commanders" or "leaders on a mission" instead of "braves on the warpath")... "The choice is yours" "Choose your favorite lyrics"... The whole course has been decided, and just because you can't decide wether to put parmesan or emmental on the pasta you're asking for our opinions and we have to feel like our voices matter ? Joke. Anyway, to be honest that's way better than what could've been. Our fight song pretty much stays...

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
I feel the best thing to do w/ the fight song is to just play it w/out lyrics. To put that stupid ass name Commanders in the fight song really makes me want to vomit. It just ruins everything.
Putting Commanders in that once iconic fight song is like fingernails on a chalk board. |

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
We'll see how running a 4-2 defense works against the teams that can really run the ball. Let's see how it holds up against the Eagles. Let's see how it holds up against Derrick Henry.

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
Agree. Just hope they know what they are doing with lbs and the Holcombe can handle mlb if they make no other moves. Honestly, don't feel this unit has been addressed sufficiently enough this offseason.

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
Kyzir White (lb) - signed w eagles for 1 yr/3M w incentives to bring it to 5m
White just turned 26 on Thursday and finished up his rookie contract with the Chargers as a 2018 fourth-round pick on an up note, piling up 144 tackles over 17 starts, which ranked eighth in the NFL. He also had two interceptions. At 6-foot-2 and 218 pounds, White will be penciled in as the Eagles’ starting off-ball LB next to T.J. Edwards and, on paper, at least, those two look like a good complement for each other with the 240-pound Edwards serving as the thumper in run support at MIKE (middle linebacker) and the speedy White being able to run with backs and tight ends in coverage as the WILL (weakside LB). Last season, ProFootballFocus.com graded out White as the 20th best off-ball LB in the league while Edwards finished at No. 10. https://www.si.com/nfl/eagles/news/e...lb-kyzir-white Leighton Vander Esch -- resigned w boys for 1 yr/3m Anthony Walker - resigned w Browns, 1 yr/4.75M Alex Ogletree - FA Ja'Whaun bentley - Pats for 2yrs/6M .. on paper its 9M but seems like incentives arent realistic ------------------- https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/pat...10-linebackers ----------------- I wanted to go back and see if the Skins missed an opportunity to add a MLB but it seems like the pickings were slim but there were options. Kyzir White seems like the best fit but hes off ball (but reports saw he plays down hill well...). Ja'Whaun Bentley may be too young/inexperienced for Ron and Co. to trust .. i think they want a vet. I want a vet in camp right now so he can start getting acclimated. Opinion - reach out to Ogletree and see if he still is in football shape, add him on a vet min camp invite and see what happens. Hes a vet MLB who is used to calling a defense. if Holcomb goes down .. we have no one whose called a D before. No one. |
