Springs is questionable, Marcus is probable, but Zorn said Springs has a better chance to play?? Huh?

Portis again doesn't practice, listed questionable - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

I just watched a video of practice today the had MW fitted up with a shoulder brace and not doing really much of anything.

Watched a interview just a few minutes ago of SS on comcast before the hockey game. He states after the calf nick the dr's said it would be 4-6 weeks down.....? WTF? Did they cut your fckin leg off?

Then he laughed and said, Kelly I've been in the league 12 years what do I have left to prove....? How bout your fckin paycheck asshole! I'm so sick of this fcking guy that lives on the sidelines! I can't wait till hes gone. I'm way over his crybaby bullshit!

I suspected from day 1 of that injury that he tore his calf muscle. I've strained a calf before, actually bad enough that I could barely walk for a few days. No way in hell it takes 6 weeks to heal a strain.

What else do I have to prove he says? What a dick.

he might have been saying what does he have to prove meaning why should he practice in order to be able to play.. like some players do

First off they weren't talking about practice. The interview being conducted by Kelly she was talking about the importance of SS being on the field.

He stated something to the effect if he wasn't a 100% and couldn't have that burst off the line, he felt like it would be hurting the team. Come on.

No one in this business is 100% during the year or if I had to guess with there training regimen ever. Get your ass on the damn field and earn your damn check, stop making fckin excesses for your lame ass.

How many other warriors on this team play week after week with much more than just nicks and dings, most all! This is the same ole same ole for springs! Good for half a season if your lucky. Don't let the door hit you in the ass at the end of the season, when you retire.

Not quite sure I understand the venom towards Springs, he's injured. If he could be out there he would be. A corner with a bad wheel does us no good.

My feeling on springs is he just doesn't give a shit, an his attitude pretty much reflects that IMO. Have you heard of many players getting kicked in the calf and miss 6 weeks? Come on man, they guy is a fragile egg.

Don't get me wrong really good corner when on the field and maybe our best but Los is closing ground probably already has. But if you are never available to play you aren't worth a shit!

This isn't breaking news, we've been dealing with this constant nick or ding that causes SS to miss big chunks of most seasons for years now. Enough already.

It time for SS to go. I hope we can get a little return out of him this season before he departs, and IMO retires. The guy is done, if your a 50/50 guy you should be getting half a paycheck.

Gotta say I agree. I could understand if Springs tore something, but from what everyone's saying it seems like a tweak. I mean he could at least be rotated in and out, get that calf some work, but he sits out every game.

Portis is constantly playing through pain and though he doesn't develop the way he would if he was healthy, something is better than nothing at all.

Come on Springs, you're a football player, not a cupcake. If you're getting that banged up from season to season and you can't get it rolling, it might be time for you to hang it up. We can use that money on a player who will actually be active for more than a few weeks per season.

Yes he is due to the fact he's a warrior and cares about this team. Along with for starters Pete Kendall, Chris Samuels, Marcus Washington, Smoot, Los, Moss, Jason Taylor, Grif, Laron......you know pretty much the rest of our KEY PLAYERS that play though pretty serious pain/injuries! Then you have 'cupcake'/ Ms.50/50......but I guess thats a special case..?

Anyway enough of SS already.

Hope CP will be ready soon. I think he will be inactive this week for sure..? Next week after a grade 2 MCL sprain I bet he's ready to roll, which should hopefully be a week at least on paper we will need him the least!

I'm not a doctor so I'm not going to pretend to know what an appropriate recovery period is for his injury, especially considering I'm not even sure of an exact diagnosis.

However I do know he needs to be medically cleared to play, and I'm assuming he's not just holding himself out. So if the team doctors are saying he's a no go, who are we to judge if he should be playing or not?

I don't disagree with your point.

But at this point I really don't care, the guy just can't stay healthy over the last several years. He's playing today and thats the great news as I stated when on the field hes a really good corner.

And we can sure us him today.

Looks like aside from Monty, we're going to be the healthiest we've been in a long time this Sunday.

This is very good news.

its all about the ofensive line, last i checked they were ready to rumble.if they open the holes that they did for portis, betts will be fine.he explodes straight ahead better than portis does anyway.why risk season ending injury by pushing him.we need him in the playoffs.(ask alexander what a knee injury can do if you keep pushing)

Re: Clinton Portis 50/50 for the Dallas game, injury updates

my question is... is Portis playing or not? i mean...i say if hes hurtin we just gameplan for our backup RBs. it hurts bad to see em out at all at this point. but we need em down the stretch...i dont wanna see another week 1 `06 where he had some touches against the vikings (yea he had his td) but it ultimatley set em back more. we need other guys to step up in this one.
