Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Giants)

Although it got ruined by the timeout, I actually thought that the fake field goal was a decent design. Yoder, not Albright, was the long snapper, and because of the formation he was an eligible receiver. I think the idea was to confuse the G-men with massive movement on the left of the formation and then throw the ball to Yoder out on the right. It could have worked - but not once the Giants call a timeout and prepare for it. The element of surprise was lost. When the Giants called timeout we should have called off the fake.

Well the second attempt sums the Redskins motto for the year. Our oline is not performing so will just put them far left and maybe the defense will be so from the passer maybe he will have enough time to pass with them over there.

We had a game plan that's called "fantacy football" experimenting with the unexpected.

And when teams game plan against these guys that shows us that we have a lot of weaknesses on our defense.

It did seem that if JC got the ball out as quickly as TC he definitely wouldn't have endured as many hits.

TC got hit every time he dropped back, even when he completed the pass to Moss.

Yeah, Collins had eons on that play relative what Campbell was getting, and there was STILL and unblocked rusher that drilled him after the release. Moss made that play by running a route for the first time in the first half, gave Collins like five yards of seperation.

Moss' effort over the course of a game is mind boggling. If he's not a primary part of the gameplan, he'll go and not get open for an entire half. Then out of nowhere, he'll run a sharp route and make a play. Then he mails it in for a quarter, and once the game is completely out of reach, he comes back and outworks everyone on the field.

I don't get it.

I'm just glad that people can see what's going on without being at the game. I think that I get too caught up in the excitement but I'm not really sure how you guys get a full picture when the camerawork is what it is.

Once.

Collins came in, and got the requisite one decent route from Santana Moss. I thought he made a really nice throw to Davis in tight coverage, and I don't think Campbell makes that throw, but perhaps he should have moved through the progression to find someone more open.

Collins did some nice things in like four passes, but all he ever seemed to do was throw to the primary receiver. I guess that's all you can really ask from your backup.

I am glad i didnt watch the game now. Zorn if he had any chance at coming back it is so gone.

That fake field goal play will forever be on the "Stupidest plays ever list" from here to eternity. Then you add that lame ass explanation That the Defense had great exacution thats why it didnt work. Thanks you DUMB FUCK!!

Zorn says in his press conference that after seeing the video, in retrospect he would have gone for the field goal. But he also said and I'm kinda paraphrasing (but not entirely)-the call was so clever it forced the Giants to take a time-out.

Yeah, that really hurt them with only 2 seconds left in the half.

the thing that gets lost on that play is how close the giants were to scring a td on that return if he would have cut back into the middle there was a damn good chance that could have been a pick 6
