23 Rushing TD's in 3 years? Pretty solid

In an RB by committee system with 65% passing plays during the time he was there (2008-2010) which was third highest in the league for that span

Arizona Cardinals Playcalling Trends - Revenge of the Birds

I think he is really underrated and love the pickup

I've seen many Cards fans pissed about losing him

solid... i imagine torain, helu, and hightower make the cut, and we got brown too. no need for big money on bradshaw etc, big money rbs don't usually get you value. and paying DW over 8mill per would be stupid, especially when he ends up back on IR by miseason.

Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.

Holliday was gunna be a backup, I bet Hightower will be too...but he's like a decade younger AND on a team with no QB passing threat...a CRITICAL need....so...I am LOVING this trade...quite wise....a legit running threat...we could use a legit receiving threat too.

If this shows insight to the minds of Shanny and Allen...perhaps they were thinking draft a ton of playmakers RB and WR....and grab one vet playmaker of each to buy us time until they develop...I just don't know if Gaffney is considered enough of a threat as a WR...he certainly doesn't seem to be more of one than our existing Moss....unlike the RB position...therefore, I think our odds of going after a #1 WR have just increased quite a bit.

I think this trade will prove to be a good thing for us after this season. We gave up Holliday, who brings leadership to the team but not much else, and the conditional pick all depends on how Hightower performs. If he performs good, the Cards get adequate compensation. If he performs bad, they get minimal compensation. It works out for both sides in the end, especially since Hightower didn't have much of a future in AZ with Ryan Williams and Beanie Wells.

Surprised by this signing did not see us adding someone of his caliber. I dont like giving up any draft picks but at least we got a productive young player for an older player and a pick

Re: Arizona RB Tim Hightower traded to Redskins.

I like the trade for Hightower for Vonnie.
1.Hightower is still young and has been productive on a very bad run blocking team in the Cardinals.
2.He runs hard and is durable.
3.He can catch the ball out of the backfield and pass block.
4. He will push ATV for the starting job.
5. He has the most experience out of any back on the roster.

Vonnie is a good locker room guy but his best days are behind him so and we give up a 6th rd pick for a proven NFL back. WIN WIN for US

What a great pick up. This guy has the game-breaking speed I've been clamoring for. I can't remember the last time we had a complete back who could take it to the house on any play.

"Hightower wore thin on the Cardinals coaching staff with five fumbles in back-to-back seasons. Though he's a reliable pass-catcher, Hightower has been one of the least effective backs with the ball in hands, failing to top 7.0 yards per reception since entering the league in 2008."

Fabulous.

Fabulous.
He's close enough at 6.8. To be exact he had 12 fums. and lost 8 in 3yrs. at Ariz. Expect Bobby Turner to work closely with him about the importance of securing the ball.

Cut. He's working out at TE and has zero chance of making the team with Cooley, Davis and Paulsen.

Darrel Young and Keiland Williams are a gret young FB tandem. Sellers had a great career here, but has been slipping over the past couple years...dropped passes, didn't look like he was giving 100% effort at all times...
