Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Lure Matt Flynn in to start next season, draft Blackmon in the first, draft Tannehill, and I think the Redskins are set.

But I've come around to seeing that Tannehill should be our guy. Fits the Shanny scheme (either Mike or Kyle's) and can make plays. Smart, tough, good arm. Makes plays with both arm and legs.

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
It depends on what traits you value more.
Both Tannehill and Jones are upper echelon arm strength/velocity in this draft, I would put both ahead of Griffin and Luck. Jones has more playing experience but I'd give Tannehill the edge in physical skillset: slighty better arm, much better athlete, but overall they're in the same class. Tannehill's also benefits from playing in a direct variant of Kyle's offense, so he's got the scheme familiarity going for him. |

Smoot isn't the only insider I know of saying the same thing. This other guy has been talking about Skins liking Tannehill since about mid-season. He's also commented that the Skins currently have RGIII rated above Luck. Now that doesn't mean very much, but at least it gives us a few options instead of having all of our eggs in one basket.

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
If this continues, we'll have to trade up to get Tannehill...........

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Doubt it. I know the Browns are intrigued but I doubt they would take him at 4. I also don't see Miami or Seattle trading up.

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Screw that!! Trade down, get more picks, draft David DeCastro and Foles.

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
It means the Redskins are snake bitten, they could have had Barkley or RGIII and probably will have to settle at QB with lesser talent. My guess is RGIII pulls a Barkley, is Baylor winning the BCS championship bowl next season? NO.

With that being said, I still don't expect us to draft him, but I always look forward to that optimism on draft day.

As exciting as RGIII could be and with a potential ceiling higher than all of them he still comes with some risk. |

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Jake Locker would have been a great, albeit frustrating, fit. Not unlike that of Tebow in Denver. I mean on one hand he's barely completing 50% of his passes but he's putting the ball in the end zone and not turning the ball over.

Some seem to believe .RGIII isn't really in love with football and wants to be in the Olympics that's been rumored around here for a while if that's true then I don't want a QB that isn't all for the NFL, never know when he would hang it up
