Re: Redskins Vs Chargers Postgame

Everyone on ESPN talking about how the Redskins are going to win the division lol..

Amazing what a win will do. Now we just need to shit the bed against the Vikings and get back to normal

Nevermind the fact that Rivers and P. Manning are two of the least sacked quarterbacks in the league. In fact, the only full season starter that has been sacked less than those two is Matt Stafford (who they've also played).
I thought the same thing all game long. Rivers was safe as can be in his pocket. Chargers did a much better job on their DL batting passes but I think we had 1-2. At least Rob Jackson got 1 sack.

Its a team win, Ill take it.

Imo we get zero push from the middle. Zero. Teams arent worried about the middle and double team those two.

I was listening on the radio and they were talking about how weak our muddle has been. If you say they did the job yesterday ok, but this year as a whole. We need more pressure in the middle.
Edit: gholston, bowen, cofoeild are run stuffers - we need someone in there to get to the qb.

Per Grant Paulsen

Rak rushed 33 times, dropped 4 times. King Dunlap got help by the guard on 2 rushes.

I didn't see much doubling going on myself either.

Coefield collasped the pocket a couple times. I think we are good there. People, San Diego Oline is not bad. Rivers was completing 74% of his passes coming into the game, he's not getting touched back there.

Yeah Rivers was second in accuracy to only Manning. I didnt realize that until pre game.
I know we have alot of holes to fill going forward, safety, interior /rite side oline, mlb, but i would love to see us get a "beast" in the middle of that down three line somewhere.

Are you talking about the penalty for hitting a defenseless player? Yeah that was a terrible call. Also the off pass interference on SD when there wasnt even any contact?WTF WAS THAT? The ref on that call should be investigated to see if he had money on the game.I dont know if you can top that as being the worst call ever.
I dont feel sorry for SD though, seen the skins get screwed too many times, but those call were absolute hogwash

I think all the reports have been that Cofield is one of the top NT's in the game. The problem is more of expectations. The DL are supposed to be controlling the line, with the LB's making the big plays. Overall, I think our 3-4 front 7 is our strongest part on D, with Fletcher's limitations being the weakest link in it. Riley, Kerrigan, Jackson, Rak, Jenkins, Cofield Bowen all bring it to the opponent all game long (except Denver in the 4th quarter )

I really expected the announcers to show another player was the actual offender for the phantom PI call. Same with the phantom Hold on Cofield a few plays later. I can't believe the refs didn't see someone do something, and just got the numbers wrong.
