Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
We need t be more balanced. We need to run the ball more. We do not have a blocking TE on the roster worth a damn. Big blocking Te's that can also be a receiving threat are tough mismatch on defenses. Mark Bavaro - Rob Gronkowski type TE gives defenses fits.

I really like the foundation we have here now with SM at GM. I think we need to add another piece on the O-line, then stock up on DBs. If Hatcher retires, then definitely a playmaking D-lineman. Work your magic Scott. High hopes for next year. At the very least we should push for another division title

RGIII will flourish in the right system. Most players who we think suck just aren't playing in a system that compliments their strengths. That being said Cousins is the QB for next couple of years at least....

RGIII won't flourish until he masters the basics of playing from the pocket.

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
Matching this year's record is going to be tough next year. We play lots of really good teams outside the division.
As yesterday's game showed, we have lots of holes - team speed on D, interior OL, RB, blocking TE. We need to beat good teams and that will be tough for this team. We are heading in the right direction though. We have a solid QB going forward and the makings of a good line - still a couple pieces short. I would not be surprised if we go 8-8 next year but be a better team than this year.

You're obviously the smartest poster on here. Name names and prove it.

Expectations next year for record - somewhere between 7-9 and 9-7. However, I do expect us to be more competitive against the better teams in the league. We still need a lot of work on the roster. Speed on defense and depth across the board. That being said, I don't think it is far fetched to think in two years we could be a consistent 10 win team. Great year. Great nucleus. Great foundation. |
