Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Well, I think he's still high on their board, though perhaps not as high. But mainly because they don't think he'll even be there at 10.
I'm not sure how the news of his tumor possibly coming back is well, news. I think everyone knows his tumor is a risk that needs to be monitored

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
SS if u had to guess on our Big Board ratings what would u say?
I'd think something like 1. Locker 2. Quinn 3. Jones 4. Mallett 5. Smith

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Just listened to the latest First Draft Podcast with Kiper and McShay and the rumor they're hearing right now from their sources around the league is that Mallet is going to slip to the 4th round. The maturity and character concerns have gotten so bad that it overshadows his 1st round talent.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Talking Aldon Smith SS
I'd be stunned if Mallett falls that far

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I seriously doubt Mallet falls to the 4th round

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Maybe so, but Kiper and McShay were very convinced after talking to their sources around the league that Mallet will fall to the 4th. First Draft Podcast on ITunes 4/26 edition. The 18:00 mark.
Also apparently the Bengals are looking into taking Julio Jones at 4 over Green. They think that he fits their system well, they need a receiver, and there's a slight possibility that it might get Palmer to reconsider his demand for a trade, in part because Jones would not only give him a weapon but he would also serve as the anti-diva at Wide Receiver.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I think both WRs are gone when we pick making the JL decision even easier

Maybe they're right. I disagree As for Jones, that's not really a secret. I think I mentioned it myself here a while back Palmer's not going anywhere. Even if he doesn't play for the Bengals, he's not going anywhere else

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
SS. Im crushing on Julio Jones bad. I know he's a risk but something about him I love. I see above that you wrote that he's not even in the skins top five list. Really???? God damit! J jones at 10 and trade up for Locker or Dalton

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
He might be in the skins top 5 list. I don't know. What I know doesn't have JJ up there, but I could be totally wrong

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Quote:
Kiper: Todd, tell me if I'm hearing something that's inaccurate. I'm hearing from people in the league that have told me, don't be surprised if he drops to the 4th round. McShay: I've heard the same exact thing. And it has a 100% to do with character. Lets be honest here. He's a first round talent. This guy has to much talent to get out of the first round if he's clean off the field. And he's not. And every pick that he last beyond pick 32 has everything to do with Ryan Mallet and how he's carried himself off the field. Not just during the press..it's not weather you believe....it's not him missing a meeting, or being sick, or partying in Carolina. Its not just that. It's a lot of other things umm and a lot of its speculation. You know I get the tweets and the calls and the emails and all that stuff, 'you're attacking Ryan Mallet.' No I'm not. All I'm doing is relaying an abundance of information from NFL teams, and you know hopefully he matures. You hope it's behind him. He's matured and you know sometimes this process can really wake up some guys. I mean you drop 3 rounds and loose out on millions of dollars in your rookie contract, you enter the league with a chip on your shoulder and maybe it's the wake up call that Ryan Mallet needs. And who knows, he's as talented as anyone from an arm strength standpoint and with the size and everything else. He has a chance to get into the league and be very successful two or three years down the road if he can keep his stuff straight off the field. It goes on for another minute or two but you get the point. But there you go. You no longer have to worry about me twisting words or reading between the lines because I have taken advantage of a caffine rush that encouraged me to type out two minutes of a podcast. And on a separate note I have no idea how court reporters do their job.
