Re: The Collins Sighting

Collins was not the answer for the Chiefs game and won't be the answer going forward. And quite frankly neither with Campbell. He can leave Washington during the offseason, and someone will pick him up to back up their QB knowing at least they have a 28 year old backup who can sit behind a franchise QB and learn for several years.

At this point, what do you have to lose by releasing one of the 47 RBs the Skins are carrying and promoting Woodson from the practice squad? Or signing some other young QB off a practice squad (Brian Brohm) and giving him a few weeks to catch up and display his talents in the waning moments of this disastrous season?

It's also a sad day when 2-4 with 10 games left is a disastrous season, but the way this offense is going, unless the defense starts scoring and pitching shutouts, we're looking at anywhere from 2-14 to 6-10 if we're lucky.

Sorry but there were several instances yesterday when JC had time to deliver the ball and was either inaccurate or was late getting the ball out. And no I'm not on drugs.

Since skins fans so addicted to QB Jason, good luck in Superbowl in 2019.

Guys need to take a deep breath and put the pipe down. I continue to maintain that while Jason Campbell is not a worldbeater, he is nowhere near as bad as this team has made him look (nor will he ever be as good as we hoped / expected when we drafted him).

For crying out loud, despite how horrid this team has been, the dude still has an 84 QB rating.

So yes, Virginia, there are going to be teams who would love to have a guy like Jason Campbell compete for the job and/or be a solid backup.

Just because the Skins season is in total meltdown doesn't mean that many of our players won't go on to have productive careers elsewhere. It happens all the time.

Re: The Collins Sighting

You need to find out how much is on JC and how much is on the rest of the offense. For that reason I voted for starting Collins. Two years ago we had no wide receiver production until Campbell went out and Collins came in. On the few occasions when Moss has been open JC has almost invariably missed him. When I watched "game breaks" I saw that it was almost always passes where the wide receiver had to "make" the play. JC appears as though he thinks that it's all on his pass, so he never allows the receiver time to make a play.
We need to find out if JC is salvagable. It appears that the season is unsalvagable with JC at the helm, and probably with anybody at the QB position. So I don't see the harm in starting Todd Collins. At least we'll get a chance to make a comparison, and JC might do better as a sub since the defense will be preparing for Collins.

As an aside, as well as the defense played yesterday, I was very bummed that the moment we took the lead they allowed them to tie it (on an invisible drive yet!)

Here's to the offense finding a way to score points, even if they have to put the cheerleaders on the offensive line!

Why not give Colt a try? What can it hurt? We are already losing to crappy teams...seriously, can't get any worse. Let's see what Colt has.
Injured Reserve?

Re: The Collins Sighting

Put ARE in at QB and we can permanently run the Wildcat. Wait, that offense requires blocking too. Eh, give Collins a week to prepare and see what he can do on Monday night. He may suck or he may do well, either way it's going to be entertaining.

How about an Antwaan Randle El bandwagon? His career QB rating is pretty sick.

I mean really... we should go to a Wildcat formation and just run nothing but gimmick plays. Then, when they're least expecting it... on 3rd and 45 from the 2 yard line......halfback draw baby.

Sherman Lewis probably thinks the Wildcat is a movie about Goldie Hawn's tireless effort to get 'Byrd' Williams in a football uniform.
