Gaither isnt going anywhere, the Ravens were just threatening to trade him to force him to come to voluntary workouts.

We've seen THAT many times this offseason. If a team or player wants to play hardball to get their way, they mention the Redskins.

Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios

Mays at #4 would be a horrible overpayment.

Berry or Earl Thomas...a slight stretch at #4 but not as bad as Mays. We really shouldn't use that pick on a safety at all. Tackle is a bigger need. Remember, last year we didn't have Chris Horton to bench Landry for. Also, I think Kareem Moore has a bright future. Along with Doughty, we're already fairly deep at Safety even if we lose Landry. Could we use another one? Sure...but we're not desperate enough at the position to use a #4 pick on a safety. We'd be playing Vinny Ball again, ignoring our biggest need for a flashy player who could be great, but wouldn't really be helping our team as much as the Draft pick could.

Prob is an overpayment but my basis would all be on if certain trades happen.

Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios

why on earth would anyone take berry or mays that high? berry will probably be a top 10 pick, but certainly not as high as 4. mays will be lucky to get drafted before the 20th pick.

Taylor mays could be good (not #4 good tho), but the more i watch him, the more i see Landry. Strait line guy getting toasted on double moves.

Taylor Mays should and probably will play LB in the pros.

i've read that before, too. can he put enough weight on? i'm assuming he'd be an ideal 3-4 ILB if so.

Re: New possible trade/draft scenarios

Could we trade down to get the seahawks 2 first rounds? I was talking to a coworker about what if we were able to trade Landry and the 4th pick for their first round picks and a third. We use those picks to select Eric Berry and Charles Brown or another Tackle.... What do you think?

Lets look at the value of the picks you mention:

Redskins 1st rounder, 4th overall - 1,800 points.

Seahawks 1st rounder, 6th overall - 1600 points.
Seahawks 1st rounder, 14th overall - 1100 points.
Seahawks 3rd rounder, non-existant - they traded it to Philly.

Even without the mythical 3rd rounder, your proposed trade would indicate that Landry is worth 900 points to the seahawks - thats the equivalent of the 18th overall pick in the first round. We'd be lucky to get the 18th pick in the THIRD round for Landry. Sorry, but thats about the most unrealistic trade scenario i've ever seen.

The 49ers also have two 1st round picks, 13th and 17th overall. They need safety help so ts possible we could trade the #4 overall and Landry for both of their first rounders, but there'd have to be someone there 4th overall worth trading up for and i dont think there is for them.

Hmmmm, sounds like we've seen that trade before.
