At this point there are only 2 scenarios that get the Redskins in the playoffs, the first (and preferable) is

beat Philly. Then we are in.

The second, and much worse odds,

lose to philly,

then have NYG beat Philly and we beat Dallas.

NYG's Minnesota game has no direct bearing on us.

if Philly wins out they are in.

if we lose out, and the Giants beat Philly, the Giants are in.

on a side note,

I liked the change in tact at Gruden's press conference yesterday. Until now, all I had heard - and heard players repeating - is it's all out in front of them. Yesterday, he changed the mantra to we have a responsibility as a first place team to play sound solid football. It is a subtle shift, but if the team takes it on, then that shows that he really is leading the locker room and team, and that is a good sign.

Yes if we beat eagles its done but, if we lose than beat dallas wouldnt we need vikes to beat gints n gints to beat eagles? That would put us at 8-8, eagles at 7-9, gints at 7-9? Vikings beating giants has a huge impact on us?
Edit: or do we own tiebreaker over gints even if they go 8-8? Eithet way i want them to lose.

Re: Week 15

no, we have the tie breaker with the Giants, so if we tie them at 8-8 we go in so if NYG loses to the Vikings, they are eliminated

The Giants have to win out and hope we lose both games.

So (if we lose to Philly) we in fact want the Giants to beat the Vikings so that they play the Eagles for a meaningful game.

Consider this: if we lose Saturday, then Fox has both the Skins/Cowboys, and the NYG/Philly game at 1pm on Sunday the 3rd, and the division champ could rest on the outcome of both games with the following scenario:
Philly wins, they win the division at 8-8 with a better division record then the Skins
NYG win, Redskins win, Skins win the division at 8-8 with a better div record then NYG
NYG win, Redskins lose, NYG win the division at 8-8 with Skins and Philly both at 7-9

edit: actually we own the conf. percentage tiebreaker with the Giants if we tie them at 8-8

Re: Week 15

The Giants can now not get in unless they win out and we lose out.

However Philly controls their own destiny. If they beat us and the Giants then they are in.

If we lose to Philly, we need to beat Dallas AND Giants need to beat the Eagles.

It's a shame about the games we lost to Dallas & Miami at home. If we would have won either of those, then yesterday's win against the Bills would have clinched the division.

Yeah, you can look at a handful of games and say it's a shame, I would throw Atlanta on the road in with your two.

But this was definitely a build from the bottom up year, and I think next year those games go our way.

And for what it's worth, the AFC South is worse than the NFC East.

This game won't be easy, the eagles were favored to win the SB by some. Even though they got blown out by AZ, they are pretty healthy have lots of talent and can strike quick. Remember the Dallas game? The one good thing is that we already got bulletin material from Mychal Kendricks:

"I mean, if I know this team and I know myself and the guys in here, man, the Redskins have something coming to them. For real. That's real [crap]. That's all I have to say about that."

Hold on, Coughlin never took ODB off the field for even one play to talk about what he was doing was wrong? well just lost a ton of respect for Coughlin too.

Are you sure about that? I don't remember anyone thinking the Eagles could go on a Superbowl run after thr crazy personnel moves made by Kelly. I for one expected this kind of season from them.

Re: Week 15

Well, Chris Baker provided some bulletin board stuff for Philly as well saying he is planning on partying in Philadelphia (Can't find the link but read it in a couple places yesterday).

Frankly, if anyone on this team needs stuff from Philly players to fire them up for a prime-time game with the division on the line, well, they are not the team we think they are.

They win this then they will have three in a row, a win on the road, and a win in prime time. That's pretty much the check list.
