Ginger Baker of Cream

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/...110126774.html

LONDON (AP) — Ginger Baker, the volatile and propulsive British musician who was best known for his time with the power trio Cream, died Sunday at age 80, his family said.

Baker wielded his blues power and jazz technique to help break open popular music and become one of the world's most admired and feared musicians.

Re: R.I.P. thread

Cream, that was a long time ago. White Room was released in 1968. Reminds me of being a strange little tyke. I was born in 1961, I was watching sports and listening to rock music at the age of 5 when most kids are into nursery rhymes and cartoons.

He was starting to get popular when I was in High School. Lucille and The Gambler were played quite often over my AM radio I had in my car. I was one of those guys that spent every spare dime trying to go faster, I did not care about the tunes.

I've never seen that video before, when it first started I thought that guitar player was Grizzly Adams lol.But then as I kept watching and saw the drummer I was like holy shit who is that guy I know him,he looks like that actor I've seen in a lot of stuff,so I googled it and sure enough

Re: R.I.P. thread

Charlie Daniels, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame best known for "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," died Monday morning after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83.

Daniels' death was confirmed by his publicist, Don Murry Grubbs. He is survived by his wife, Hazel, and son Charlie Daniels, Jr.

------------------------------------------

Ive listened to his hit songs - simple man, uneasy rider, long haired country boy --- just about a bazillion times. I have had trouble harmonizing his music of his younger years as a southern long haired hippie type with his older years political comments.

Rest easy Charlie, you certainly left your mark on US music.
