But we signed those guys to one-year contracts - it's not like we have a lot of confidence in them. Plus Shanallen like 'em young.

You think we can't get good/decent production out either Jackson, Meriweather, or Williams for 1 year, and draft a better S prospect next year? If anything, signing 3 S's points to the lack of confidence/assurance the FO has in this year's S class. I'm assuming the reason we signed 3 S's is because the FO believes this years safety draft class is mediocre and unimpressive; If we do take a S, l'll be fine with drafting Phillip Thomas, but S is not as pressing a need as it was before the signings of Meriweather, Williams, and Jackson.

I don't disagree with you to a certain extent. The lack of confidence goes both ways: lack of confidence in the draft class and lack of confidence in the vet market.

To me, in such a situation the smart thing is to sign some vets (done) and draft someone and then see what kind of cream rises to the top.

We can agree to disagree as to what level of confidence the FO has in the S draft class; the good thing is we'll both find out April 26-28

Amazing the lack of play this thread has gotten in regards to everyone's dream draft, and yet the other thread is full of people's dream drafts.
