Re: Robert Griffin III: The Man Behind The Name

In other related RGIII news. Current Baylor Assistant AD Heath Nielsen took to twitter and absolutely pooped on Albert Breer's character assassination of RGIII.

Heath Nielsen ‏ @HeathNielsen

Couldn't be more wrong, Albert, re RG3... MT @AlbertBreer: ballboys & equipment guys at AU loved Cam. Not sure it was like that at Baylor

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Heath Nielsen ‏ @HeathNielsen

.@AlbertBreer your bio lists you as "reporter", rather than speculate, why not ASK Baylor employees about RG3? He's LOVED at Baylor.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Heath Nielsen ‏ @HeathNielsen

RT @AStaton: Regarding #RG3: It is unfortunate that some mistake self-confidence and a refusal to remain complacent as selfish.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Heath Nielsen ‏ @HeathNielsen

@AlbertBreer I've dealt w Rob for yrs in all situations, he & his family are salt of the earth. Dont mistake drive & confidence. He's loved.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Heath Nielsen ‏ @HeathNielsen

@AlbertBreer I won't dispute personal opinions (of NFL folks), but I strongly feel Baylor "ballboys & equipment guys" treated great by Rob.

That's not fair to Breer. He's just the messenger reporting what he's heard

Hey, I think it's very fair. Why didn't he bring up those "character issues" in his RGIII breakdown back in Dec?
NFL.com news: With Barkley now out of picture, attention turns to Griffin

He's waiting to now to verify what scouts have supposedly said? He never bothered checking with Baylor AD or staff to verify such allegations? Eff him. If he wants to be a "reporter" than he needs to do his job thoroughly and correctly. That means covering his bases and backing up any claims instead of propagating agendas. He deserves every bit of flak he's catching right now.

What's that you asking Breer why he is conveniently reporting the RG3 "character issues" now on Twitter?

There may be more behind it than what we know. Maybe Breer is just helping Indy defame RG3 because he owes them a favor, or will want a favor down the road? I haven't seen what Breer is saying about RG3, but I trust Breer as a reporter because he's generally known as one of the harder working reporters around the league. With that said, I doubt I'd believe him in regards to RG3's "character flaws."

I do believe all this negative news we're hearing about RG3 atm is probably negative press from Indy to sell the fans on Luck, and I wouldn't have trouble believing people in Indy would ask reporters to help spread the story. If Breer is one of them so be it.

Why yes I am.

Questioned why his "reporting" didn't note these things back in the December breakdown of RGIII, and why he didn't follow up on that scouts character issues with the school and people that were around him.

Basically told him to do his job as a reporter.

His response was very childish.

Because you know what he's like, right? Gimme a break."

A nice response by Matt Bowen regarding the RG3 character accusations:

Re: Robert Griffin III: The Man Behind The Name

Washington hasn't had a reliable quarterback since Mark Rypien in 1991, and right away fans began singing a revitalized version of their fight song:
Hail to the Redskins
Hail victory
Braves on the warpath
Block for RG3
The prevailing opinion is that if he can turn Baylor around, RG3 can do the same for Washington. All he asks is for the franchise to "grind it out" with him until he gets it right. In the meantime, he's about to go to the bank, like RG1 did, and about to get married young like RG2. He and Rebecca want to eventually start a family, and they already have a name picked out for their son:
......nice article

Damn I remember him! Pretty cool that he's a surgeon now.
