Re: QB or BPA for our #1 Draft Pick - 2020

Chase Young would make Montez Sweat more productive on the other size and shorten the mount of time the corners have to cover. We can't pass on this guy and we should start Morgan Moses at QB so we can guarantee we have the #2 pick.

Trading down gets us what? 2 more Jon Allens? Solid player but opposing teams don't game plan for him.

Young and Sweat COULD be the new Manley and Mann.

I want some Young Sweat for 2020!

Chase would be our next Sean Taylor on D.

BINGO! Young would make the entire DL much, much better. That AND a premiere DC to properly manage this squad. This defense is totally handicapped by poor coaching. Manusky just sucks. He has completely VANILLA schemes, with little blitzing nor stunts. A really good DC will completely transform this defense into the top half of the NFL, even with the players we have now!

Add Chase Young, a CB or S draft pick(s) and some excellent FA with our $80-90 mill in free cap money (when we dump all our. FA ) and better coaching and this defense will be in the top 10 defenses, next year.

You guys act like this is going to the grocery store and picking up a few things for xmas dinner... lol. They don't know what they're doing in free agency. They rarely pay their own guys (like Murphy or Lo Alexander) but go out and overpay bums like Richardson or Collins.

How? Sweat isn't winning his one on one match ups so I'm not sure what Young will do.

I didn't say we don't have pieces to work with. I said we have guys that are drafted that basically suck..

Allen, playing out of position but makes no plays
Montae, worst safety in the league. Pure arbage.
Holcolm, sucks but he is a rookie
Moses, sucks
Sprinkle, slowest TE in the history of the league
Sweat, no pass rush.
Guice, gets hurt every 15 carries

There is glass half empty, then there is this view.

For one Jason Witten is definitely the slowest TE in the league.

Holcomb has been average to good. I wouldn't say he sucked at any point, maybe missed some plays, but that is different than sucking.

The defense in generally is on the scheme and coordinator.

I didn’t know Chase Young was from Maryland and went to DeMatha, that’s more reason to make him a Redskin.

QB or BPA for our #1 Draft Pick - 2020

I think it’s hard to grade guys like Allen, Payne, and even Sweat when the defense is so poorly coached.

Secondly, the team has done a terrible job managing and picking up FA. That’s all in Bruce Allen! His grubby little prints are all over the bad FA decisions he’s made over the last decade. We’ve consistently picked FA who can’t stay healthy. Out of our top 8 FA, only two finished the season. The rest were hurt from the get-go or we got minimum production.

The easy answer is to get ruthless and trade or cut almost all the FA. Of all the FA besides Collins, they should all be dumped. We can get a second rounder for Trent and maybe a fourth for Kerrigan.

It’s time to rebuild. That’s what will be enticing to a new HC. Dumping all the FA will open up $80-90 mill in cap money.
Kyle Smith should be making the FA decisions, not Bruce Allen.

With Kyle Smith’s past two drafts, he’s done very well. We’ve got plenty of rookies from the 2018/9 draft and even UDFA who are playing well above their draft position. This team is young and hungry. With good coaching it can do far better than we are now.

Finally the new HC has a great choice - take Chase Young -BPA in the draft, or trade down from #2 for a king’s ransom in draft picks. Either choice is a winner.

A ton of cap money; Chase Young or a trade down for a boat load of draft picks; Kyle Smith is a very good judge of draft talent; and a lot of young players who are doing well even with poor coaching. All this is a diamond in the rough for a good HC - as long as Bruce is gone.

I totally agree, contrary to what the talking heads in the media say, I can't see why Dallas is attractive at all.... no new coach there will get the credit for building that team, Jerry wants all the credit..... and coaches, like owners and GMs, are egotists when it comes to getting credit. Assuming Bruce is gone as part of any deal then any new coach has a clean slate, a very low bar for success and will get all the credit as soon as (if) the skins get into the playoffs and will have 3 years at least to turn things around...... and a promising young quarterback in place.

Isn’t that how Sean was viewed before being drafted? Just a different position

I do think the scheme does suck but I have seen too many times where a player is in position to make a tackle or a play and they can't or don't make it. It ain't all on Manusky.
