Definitely a penalty by the rule. But defenders are in such a tough spot. Unless he can see the future, he had no way of knowing Lockett was going to duck down at basically the exact same time he made that hit. So sure, call the penalty out of just bad luck, but no way he should have been ejected.

You can see the clips yourself. At the time I thought it was a personal foul for sure and ejection worthy, but the gameday thread didn't think so. What I saw was Forbes lower his head as he was approaching Lockett and leave his feet.

But I didn't stay at a Holiday Express this whole year.

I've only seen the one clip and it doesn't look like he launched at all. It looked like a clumsy attempt to lead with his shoulder and Lockett ducks into it. Yes, I guess it's a PF by rule as its H2H, but its not deliberate and its not targeting as he didnt lead with his helmet, let alone the crown. Certainly not an ejection.

OTOH I simply can't understand why defenders aren't coached (or coach themselves) to make good tackles. Too many missed tackles going for a hit that lead to big gains (and I'd find it embarrassing lying on the floor with the ball carrier running off downfield). Winning the game is more important than one potential highlight reel.

90% of what the officials do is with intent. He didn't deserve an ejection and I hope he has a short term memory when it comes to feeling down on himself.

Lol. Seriously. Are we really acting like Forbes would have made a difference?

he would have helped the Seahawks; epically if JDR had put him on DK

Re: Can we get some D - Seahawks post game thread

Fox play-by-play man Kevin Kugler noted that Pete Carroll’s squad came into the game with nine drives of 10 plays or more all season, and had four such possessions against Washington.

13 drives of 10 plays or longer 31% came against Washington. Pathetic

I get there is no one in the wings and dust up is a dead man walking anyways but you can't tell me we don't have a position coach wanting a chance to show their mettle down the stretch.

It is amazing how badly JDG's unit has performed -- and continues to perform. We have a talent deficit, no doubt, but they're underperforming by any objective measure.

It really makes me wonder how much Chris Harris' role was in the success of our unit last year. His departure is really the only big change from last year and the unit has done a complete 180 this year.

I'd rather have Jack Lemmon than Jack Del Rio.

Speaking of Lemmon though, Grumpy Old Men was a great movie. Him and Matthau were comedy gold. I need to watch that one again.
