Don’t do a thing as an org. When asked by the outside we simply state we need our team leader back as soon as possible. I would be firm that a trade is not an option. I would tell silverblunt privately at this time we don’t have the flexibility but wait until after next season to see what we can do...can Trent play his first full season in four years?

Who knows how much Scherff and Williams want? Scherff is not getting more than the top tackles make. And does he want to stay? 14 million a year?

What kind of extension is Trent looking for? Would he accept an incentive-based extension?

There should be enough money. If Smith is a 6/1/20 cut he is just a $10 million dollar hit in 2020 and 2021. This will be Norman, Reed, and Davis last year. Plus there could be a major increase in the cap limit next year.

Total confidence in BA to handle it like a champ. Just like with Kirk!!

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

Trent Williams is worth more to us than any other team. We won't get anything in a trade that will be worth it. He is a freaking Skins legend that is still one of the best LTs in the game. Pay the man. He's a lifer.

If we can only do one deal tho, it would suck, but Scherff is more important long term. He is our future Sliverback (anchor).

I don't have faith in the Skins a lot of times, but I think they figure out a way to get both done.

He is “under contract”, I hate it when players pull this strong arm tactics. Honor your fucking contract, you’ll get paid.

Totally agree. Hate to say it but handle it like the Patriots do. They'd trade him... Hell they cut a te for not showing up at camp and te is a position of need.. They are a no-nonsense organization. Its a team. If we extend him him we stand a good chance of not being able to resign shereff (sp) and others....

This is his last chance for another good contract. He won't get paid in 2 years.

But I do agree with you about honoring your contract. You thought it was good when you signed it and you did sign it. Tough situation. C'mon Trent and Skins, figure this out.

How many wins with him next year, and how many without him?

All this is over $3.3M more a year.

Should the team honor its contract with Norman or cut him a year early?

Hard to put wins on a player in football, but I think he's worth around a win.

Then what's the point?

How many games do you think he will actually play the next two seasons after the team pays him top money?

He has missed 13 in the last 3 years.

You only play 16, I think being worth a win by yourself is really damn good.

It is really good for a non qb.

And it will not matter a bit in 2019.

2020 or 2021 is the earliest it would actually matter and he will be probably be more injured and as another year older recover slower.

I just don't think you break the bank for that.

Just to be candid, back ups for Trent and Moses are equally as important or has been at least.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

First off .. he does not need the wear and tear of mini camp so this may just be a excuse to miss all that.. if it’s truly a holdout over 3 million then the deal will get done.. however it’s time to look to the future and start building around Haskins IF he is to be the franchise QB..I would not break the bank or any crazy contract if he demands that .. 2019 is a huge year for the skins it’s not about the record but we are going to find out do we have a QB, RB , will anybody step up in the receiver dept? .. will gruden keep his job ? With the D looking solid and if Haskins is the real deal there finally could be light at end of a long tunnel.
