Lee Roy Selmon passes away

Tampa Bay Great ( HOF ) . Tampa's 1st ever draft pick , awesome football player , and a very polite and humble man from what I recall . R.I.P. Mr. Selmon .

R.I.P. He was a little before my time but from all accounts was the kind of player the kids of today should strive to be. Hardworking, humble, and thankful is a great combination.

Re: Lee Roy Selmon passes away

He was a great player and I have heard a good guy (but never met him). It is ironic, I am working on an event in December and he was one of the guys on my list to call to check on his availability.

I think I heard he was only 56? And he died 2 days after having a stroke? I wonder if we will hear anything about this being related to concussions?

Re: Lee Roy Selmon passes away

I met him twice and spent a couple of hours in his presence - - with other folks to be sure - - back in the mid-80s. He was indeed a warm and generous human being.

Prayers to his family. RIP, Lee Roy Selmon...
