I'm about 85% sure that the coverage was 2-man. The scheme and quarterback were responsible for keeping the safety (Wilson) out of the play, but Moss needed to beat Peterson to the edge for that throw to be there.

It's risky because Rex could read the coverage, make a perfect throw on the money, and Peterson could have still been underneath Moss to force a turnover on downs. Fortunately, Moss beat him and everything worked out fine.
