That's wrong. Every one of them you sign, you bump somebody else out of the top 51. The net impact of them is minimal, probably $1M or so once you bump players out of the top 51.

Do second or third round picks get signing bonuses ? if so, about how much ?

Yes. To give you an idea, last year Amerson was a 2nd rounder. He got $1.2M in up front signing bonus. On a 4 year deal, that amortizes to $300K per year worth of cap hit attributable to the bonus. Then the salaries are not too much different from the minimums for the level of service.

3rd rounders get less, obv. Reed was our 3rd rounder last year, he got a little more than $500K in up front bonus.

It's all slotted now based on when you're selected. You can expect numbers very similar to these again this year.

I doubt we are done.
Teams are still releasing players, we're not done releasing players.
Still need a punter too.

This year it is probably less than 1 million between no first rounder and rule of 51 cap counting.

I still think Stephen Bowen's days are very numbered.

I agree, serves no purpose to keep him. Even if he is best buds with hatcher, with our needs we can't afford to keep him. It's business, gotta go

Also this talk of merriwether, reed, etc returning to safety is beyond unacceptable.

If they sign Penn, we will not have much room left.
Maybe they are planning on the rookies?
