Paying for what he has been, not what he will be is not a good philosophy.

Do you see Trent not playing well this year? Next year? From what I have seen from Trent, I have no doubts he will continue to play well for next 2 years. Even at 75% capacity, he is still better than most tackles in NFL.

He will play well? He is being paid well, he just got a new contract.

Will he be the best? Because that's how he wants to be paid.

He hasn't been. He has missed 13 games in the last 3 seasons.

Tackles that make more $$ per year then Trent :
Nate Solder, Jake Matthews, Donovan Smith, Russell Okung

Re: Redskins O.T.A.

It’s safe to say, for another practice without their main pieces along the offensive line, the #Redskins offense can’t handle their defensive front. At all!

Re: Redskins O.T.A.

I wonder if the delay in getting Scherff a deal is because they were anticipating this. And now they are trying to figure out how to pay both.

Honestly, to me this equates to having another major injury, if TW holds out. And this is a bit ridiculous.

Maybe Eric Schaffer can work his magic? Sorry if I'm not in the "pay him" camp, since I'm sure the team wasn't expecting to deal with this for another year.

I love Tent Williams as a player.

Top tier talent and tough as nails.

BUT, paying him is not the smart move. His injury situation is not going to improve with age. Think long term.

Vegas has us at 6.5 wins this year. We aren't winning anything.

It's all about 2020.

Trading him for as much value as possible is there smart move here.

Re: Redskins O.T.A.

Trent is my favorite Redskin over the last 10 decade pretty much, I'd hate to see him leave. Some guys are just meant to play with 1 franchise and TW is that guy.

Skins are bent over a barrel on this one and Trent and his agent know it. I don't see what choice they have - Gruden's offense completely falls apart without Trent. He and Scherff make a lot of Gruden's plays possible.

They're going to have to pay up.

Pay an aging veteran top money, who has almost missed a whole season worth of games over the last 3 years, or what will happen?

How many games will we win this year with him?

If he takes us from 4 wins to 6 or 7 wins then so what.

Just curious about your reasoning.

I don't see what he does so well where he can demand more money. If he's not coming to camp we should trade him. That is if someone wants to pay and overpaid, overrated old man like him.

Dude, he has been awesome when healthy.

No hate. Just a business decision.

I cant find the video but there is tape on twitter of him pulling to kick a corner out on a bubble. That is out of this world athleticism for a big guy. I love him as a Redskin, but if we can get a 1st for him then maybe that is the way to go. Just wish we had more depth at tackle so the team had more leverage.

Team is going to need need flexibility in the near future.....young talent is starting to stack up

Maybe the Redskins can funnel money to Trent Williams the way the Patriots compensate Tom Brady by paying for his bullshit health company.

Re: Redskins O.T.A.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden called Trent Williams the best left tackle in the game and said when he comes in he’ll be ready to go. Williams wasn’t at the mandatory minicamp workout today.
