I do not remember who said it but the most popular QB is always the back up.

He's grown as a player and he knows this system better than anyone on this roster. I think it's time to see what he can do.
This is all speculation. How do you know he can run offense better and grown as a player? Here is what I do know. Colt is given the opportunity to show his skills every year at camp, off seasons and practice and people who know far more about football than you or I do not think he is a starter

As long as he doesn't get on the field

Smith has been handed a mostly healthy line, healthy Jordan Reed, healthy Doctson, and excellent ground game, stout defense, and still can’t produce??

Cool straw man.

The link shows how it really was last year though.

You can say whatever you want, but it’s a fact that Cousins operates the offense at a much higher level than Smith with much less than Smith has now.

The old saying, “A chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link”.

Smith is clearly the weakest link, and that’s scary. He sucks and our defense and AP have hidden how bad he really is.

Chris Thompson went out week 11.

Kirk had 18 total turnovers last year. 13 int and 5 fumbles to 27 td passes.

I liked Kirk, he would sling it. But without the receivers creating separation, it is going to put the ball in jeopardy.

Alex is much more careful with the ball.

So again, it's not that he can't throw deep.

Has Smith thrown and connected on a single deep ball all year?

Now the defense has helped us win 6, if not won them for us, so not blaming them. Just saying, 6 of 7 the games we had an actual chance to win, we did, and Alex was part of those.
This really sums it up.

Re: Homecoming / Houston Thread

It's also not apples to apples, this is the first year Alex has been in this offense.

Kirk had been in the offense for 4 years by 2017.

Comparisons to hall of famers...

Yes, I agree. Let's just go get a HOF qb.
