Around the NFL, Training Camp Style

Let’s peak in on the cowboys camp:

Dez Bryant goes off on Dallas Cowboys front office, players

Yikes!

Pair that with Jerry bullying his team with the anthem...looking like off to a good start! I’m sure Sean lee having to be asked questions about being called a snake is not distracting. People wanted dez on this team? Really?

Any big time WR will act like that , they want the ball it's not a surprise. Dez and Dak didn't get along because dak cant make the throws and is scared to take chances, he's Jason Campbell 2.0

Sounds like the anthem might have been an issue for them last year. Hoping Jerry's "stand or be cut" policy continues that theme this year.

Jerry should just shut his mouth. Mentally starting to fall off

Agreed. Just wanted to point out it had already died down then he put out yet another tweet about it. He wants to keep the heat on the NFL.

Re: Around the NFL, Training Camp Style

Back to football, I hope Dez keeps the trolling of his former team going. Not that I like him or agree with anything he has to say, but I do love how clownish it makes them all look. Meanwhile, we're all business in training camp.

I have a good feeling about our team. I like how we're building from the trenches -- it's been a long time since we've done that -- and the reports seem to indicate that the team is really coming together. Good leadership will do that, and a number of guys seem to be displaying that this year so far.

It feels like we have competitive depth 2-3 deep at every position (except LG). This may be the strongest roster the Skins have fielded in a decade or two. Maybe not, I didn't compare, it just has an under the radar killer instinct feel to the team.

Re: Around the NFL, Training Camp Style

Im a believer in the "intangibles" on a team...and while everything looks good on paper, still have to wait how they mesh together in the locker room and of course on the field.

It seems to me we have a really good mix on the defense side of things...Norman, Swearinger who are vocal, positive vets. The young guys seem mature (Allen, Payne, Monte) and coachable.

I don't know if I can say that about the offense. I think the Oline seem to have a workman like approach. Silverblunt...as much as I love him...suspension questions. Alex Smith seems to have a silent confidence about him and seems comfortable with who he is....I couldn't always say that about Cousins. Guice...seems to love the game, fans and spotlight...no drugs or alcohol...but is he mature enough to handle adversity? Difficult to say. The WR group is a hodge podge of talent...each with own skill set...I need to see them play together as a group.

I think one guy on the offense who could be a leader is Chris Thompson...everytime he talks its always positive and mature. I can see him being someone offense looks too.

So everything looks good on paper...kool aid is the purple stuff right now....but lets see how this group comes together, especially on the offense.

There was an article, i forget where maybe here..., that had a note about ASmith in the meeting rooms early on and he would sit in different chairs each day to talk and meet different groups of players. I think we will see a very communicative and very positive leadership style from our qb that is team focused and goal (winning) oriented.
