RR is absolutely the best coach we have had since Joe Gibbs ! This team was a dumpster fire .. we all said worse in the league .. so to get Ron to coach was indeed a great move .. not sure we could have done any better. I’m super excited about the draft and the next season .. I have realistic expectations and looking at the long term plan

I am not ready to jump on to the "RR is our saviour" train.

Nor am I. But I’m riding the “he was the best available option at the movement” train.

Per ESPN Trent to Cleveland " close"........working on a contract?

ESPN Update ....trade to Cleveland "on the table"

Please please please PLEASE be true ....

Solves two problems for me ..

As a Skins fan -- this would finally give us resolution to the Trent Williams nightmare

As a Louisville Cards fan -- it would seemingly take Mehki Becton to Cleveland at the 10th pick off the table. The only thing worse would be if he winds up on the Cowboys.

He has a fire and passion, but it's solely focused on winning, not who gets the credit. So I expect his run here to be less chaotic, less divisive, and more productive than Shanahan's.

What is the difference between Shanahan wanting “all the power” and the current “coach-centric” structure with Rivera having all the power. It’s the same thing.

The fact that things were divisive and chaotic here under shanahan had nothing to do with shanahan and everything to do with bruce Allen and a Diva QB - two proven failures who undermined the coach at every opportunity.

There is a huge difference from Shanny's approach and RRs at least in this miniscule time slice we have. I am making judgements off what i perceive their individual temperaments are and what I perceive as their interaction with DS. I do agree BA being gone makes RRs situation seemingly better, but even without BA I believe Shanny and Danny would have imploded. I don't see that same personality friction at play with RR.

Agree. He was the best the Skins could do at the time. He was a decent coach who was never able to get a talented Carolina team over the top. Hopefully he can get the Skins back to competitive.

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins

Not sure how much of a difference it makes but we should also bear in mind that he had a GM over him in Carolina , first Dave Gettlemen then a guy who has let their roster degrade somewhat.... if RR is choosing his guys here it should be different, for better or worse

3 straight division champs and a SB appearance with a 15-1 record, I think we'd all take that

I think he's better than decent, he's a quality coach
