Agreed. Snyder is the man who put Cerrato and Allen in place and allowed them to run the circus as long a they did. He’s ultimately responsible for everything.

I'd hope we can get TW back too, but its going to rely largely on who takes over from Allen and whether TW feels he can trust them. If TW doesn't trust DS or anyone he appoints, then I don't think anyone coming in will persuade him. Rivera might be able to convince him, but it's a big ask at this point and he may not even want to, preferring to get picks for TW and draft his replacement.

You can't change the owner, so this is as happy as we can possibly be about our future.

Hallelujah, Bruce is gone!

The only times we made the playoffs under the Cerrato and Allen regimes were when they were not making the football decisions. Gibbs was given total control curing Cerrato's tenure, two playoff berths. Shanahan was given total control during Allen's tenure, one playoff berth. McCloughan was given GM control during Allen's tenure, one playoff berth.

Turning things over to Rivera is a definite positive compared to where we've been.

I don't think this is the issue, Williams emphasized that he likes Snyder and doesn't hold anything against him when reporters asked Williams questions about the tumor situaton.

I'm just worried if our damn good culture can survive this big change.

I wouldn't mind TW staying, but regardless of the front office situation, I don't want a Lane Johnson-type extension. No way

Snyder sure knows how to sweet talk us! Is he saying this because he's changed or because he just wants to keep ****ing us?

Trents situation was always about money and wanting a new multi-year contract with more guaranteed money. All the drama aside, Trent Williams is old, injury prone, and one drug test away from a 1 year suspension. He’s not the type of player you bring back at the kind of money he’ll demand. He’s the kind of guy you trade to clear cap space and get draft picks to improve your teams future.

Our offensive line did just fine without Trent Williams this year. Well do fine without him next year. If we bring him back, I’ll have lost any confidence in the new front office.

Don't want him back. I'd also move on from Kerrigan as well. Out with the old.

Kerrigan can only comeback if he takes a pay cut

Agreed. It amazes me that some of the same people here who are excited by Bruce being gone are wanting the team to make the same dumb type of moves that Bruce would make. Keeping guys like Williams and Kerrigan is only something you should do if you are "close." We aren't. We have a good base of young talent, but we are rebuilding. If we're giving anyone big money (and we should have a lot in the offseason), it needs to be young, rising players.

Re: Confirmed: Bruce Allen has been fired

I'll say it. I am fine bringing back Trent for another year or two to postpone finding his replacement because we have bigger issues this offseason.

Did he handle himself appropriately this year while he sat out? Obviously not. I just disagree that he totally burned all his bridges with the organization.

You guys really think he was talking shit about Bruce Allen and the training staff/medical staff without guys on the team endorsing him to do it? I guarantee you there are guys in the locker room who wanted him to do it.

The fact is Bruce Allen is now out, and the training/medical staffs are most likely going to be revamped. Those are the only obstacles for Trent to come back. I'm not gung ho on giving him a new deal though, we hold the cards in that arena. I'd play hardball on his contract since he still owes us 2 years.
