When Sav Rocca punts:
- Women in the next state have unexplained orgasms;
- Death takes a holiday;
- Babies are afraid to cry;
- Eagles fans die a little.

Re: Send Sav Rocca to Hawaii!

G'day guys from Down Under.

Was ecstatic when I heard Sav was joining the skins. Without doubt one of the top 10 kickers i have seen in Aussie Rules..

Check out this youtube clip

Keep in mind, that he is kicking the ball from approx 65 metres (70-75yards) The red markings on the ground are the 50metre arc and he is a fair way behind that. Also, the type of kick does not travel as far as a spiral (or what we call a torpedo).. He can kick 80+ yards...

As for the tackle, not surprised as our game is built on hard hits, and everyone is taught to tackle from a young age..(unlike most punters)

Also, his younger brother Anthony retired from AFL a couple of years ago and is a better kick than Sav..

Re: Send Sav Rocca to Hawaii!

If the Eagles had Sav Rocca tonight they would have won in a blowout.

Saverio 'Sav' Rocca kicks a goal from a mile away - YouTube

Who's the dude at the end wearing the white suit and hat? He's be a candid NFL ref.

Re: Send Sav Rocca to Hawaii!

The guy with the white suit is the Goal Umpire..Adjudicates whether it is a goal or not....He waves the flags to signal to all that a goal has been scored.

Also Bucket...big difference between Rugby and Aussie Rules (what Rocca played)..Rugby is simlar to NFL..more throwing the ball (think laterals)..whereas Aussie Rules is kicking of the ball, hence Rocca's ability

Obviously I like American football. But I also think that Aussie rules football is cool. It is a true man's game.

Re: Send Sav Rocca to Hawaii!

Still send Sav to Hawaii, but take a quick detour up to Alcatraz.

Re: Send Sav Rocca to Hawaii!

As a punter, he was awesome. As a holder, where you have to be perfect every play he wasn't.
