Is that a feather in Theismann's cap, or an indication of just how inept the Skins have been since?

It can be for sure Joey T was a hell of a competitor and a really good QB. I just am amazed that Gibbs won with Rypien and Williams past his prime.

It has been a long long time since we had a good QB who wanted to be here.

No....just him at OSU.....usually QBs keep the same number from college.....Aaron Rodgers and Montana were a few exceptions.

Speaking of Montana, he wasn't able to wear Len Dawson's #16 in KC after winning 4 Super Bowls with the 49ers.

Haskins won a Rose Bowl.

Without checking I think Montana was 19 at KC.

Re: Number Seven Belongs To Thiesman

If Haskins is the guy I don’t care what number he wears! This team has way too many issues to worry about about a number.. this team needs to move forward and give the new fans a taste of what us old guys experienced.. it seems like a lifetime ago since the glory days! Part of the issue is looking back and trying to find a connection to the past.. Bruce is here because of his dads past with skins.. lots of folks are here because of past.. that should have nothing To do with it! We need the best football people in this organization regardless of the past.. look at teams around the league that are successful they are bringing in young guys for front office and coaches.. I love what the skins did back in the day but that was then .. this is now

Agree, also as good as Joe was he is no Elway or Favre. That number shouldn't be retired

You are correct, Sir. #16 with the 49ers and #19 with the Chiefs.

Are you talking about Len Dawson's #16 with the Chiefs or Joe Montana's #16 with the 49ers?
