Re: 2016 Combine
Interesting choosing to use so many interviews with QBs.

I love it. You never rest at that position.

Re: 2016 Combine
Over the past few years the top S have been drafted in the first round. There are a handful with good enough tape...Thompson, WV boys, J Cash. If they put up good measurables i think a couple will be first rounders.

The highest rated players on the list that the team talked to are the D Line players and the QBs. Everyone else on the list consistently grades out as a mid to late round picks according to: 2016 NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

Re: 2016 Combine
I find it interesting that the Skins talked to two very talented players who might fall in the draft due to character concerns, namely Nkemdiche and Spence.

Re: 2016 Combine
When there are character concerns it's a must, it's the only way to decide for yourself how much a problem it is.

Re: 2016 Combine
Josh Perry-Ohio State 6'4''--254--40: 4.68 (10 split)1.67 vert 33.5--- college OLB that may be positionless in the NFL, I would love him inside at ILB and maybe move to edge on 3rd. Big strong kid that moves well for his size Steven Daniels-Boston College 5'11'' 243--4.86--1.68 v 32 ---tackling machine in college, downhill thumper, moved okay in drills Jared Norris-Utah 6'1" 241--4.8--1.65 v29.5---lil stiff in drills, upright Tyler Makatevich-Temple 6' 231--4.81--1.68 v31 ---another tackling machine; good movement in drills Nick Kwiatkowski-WV 6'2 243 4.73--1.64 v32---Smooth in drills CJ Johnson-Miss 6'1" 234--4.81--1.71 ---A lil stiff in drills BJ Goodson-Clemson 6'1 242--4.71--1.65 v34.5---thumper type, moved well in drill Joe Schobert 6'1 244 4.67--1.63 v33.5---another college OLB that can maybe kick inside smooth in drills Reggie Ragland 6'1 247 4.72--1.66 v31.5---Okay in drills, lil choppy Scooby Wright 6 239 4.9--1.67 v31----solid college mlb, won bunch of LB awards 2 years ago, coming off injury, decent in the drill Blake Martinez 6'1 239 4.71 v28.5---good movement |

Some players who looked good in conversion drills who might be good 3-4 OLB prospects: Shilique Calhoun 6-4 251 4.83 --- ran slow but looked good in drills. I think he can cover. Need to check that 40 time at his pro day. Kamalei Correa 6-3 243 4.7 --- Terrific athlete but very short arms. Could move inside. Noah Spence 6-2 251 4.8 --- Slow 40 but a good 10-yard split. Did not look good in space. Might be a pass rusher only. Shaq Lawson 6-3 269 4.7 --- I dont think he can cover either. Might be a 4-3 DE. Yannick Ngakoue 6-2 252 4.75 --- Looked very smooth and comfortable in conversion drills. Emmanuel Ogbah and Charles Tapper are two amazing big athletes who have every physical trait a team could ever want. I don't know anything about them as football players but Ogbah did OK in the conversion drills. |

Re: 2016 Combine
Didnt watch alot of the DL, i got some work to do there.
But generally speaking I'm never very worried about the coverage ability of an edge rusher. Don't know much about the other guys but... I like Spence, Lawson and Ogbah they proly get drafted in reverse order above. PFF was raving about Ogbah prior to the combine. Will post later. For the ILB I was specifically looking for guys that were stout with an eye to helping out the run game. Even tho most of these guys have size some of them are scheme protected so u don't get to see them stack and shed Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk |

Re: 2016 Combine
I watched the Interior D-Lineman drills. Most of the known studs checked out both in their measurements and their drills.
To be specific, these players looked like the real deal to me: Andrew Billings - Very impressive quickness and power. Joey Bosa - The Energizer Bunny. Versatile. DeForest Buckner - Made everything look easy. Jonathan Bullard - Fast, quick, and strong. May be a 4-3 guy at 285 pounds. Kenny Clark - Great in drills. Robert Nkemdiche - Amazing athlete at 294 pounds. Sheldon Rankins - Runs well, very quick with great balance, and strong. Jarran Reed - Top notch athlete. A'Shawn Robinson - Same as Reed. Does Alabama have a 3-D printer for D-Lineman? That makes 9 D-Linemen who could be 1st Round picks, IMHO. Interior Linemen whose numbers and/or drills disappointed: Austin Johnson Adolphus Washington Interior Linemen who surprised in a good way: Sheldon Day - Very quick and runs well. Javon Hargrave - Big, strong, fast, and worked out well. From South Carolina State! Willie Henry - Has all the measureables and worked out well. Matt Ioannidis - Big, very strong, and very athletic. Hassan Ridgeway - Good drills, showed real power. Jihad Ward - Looked very good in drills. Tall with long arms. |
