Re: Falcons postgame
One thing that came to mind is that Chase has been flagged, at least once recently, for tackling and bringing a QB to the ground. I wonder if that caused some hesitation and led him to go for a hit, as supposed to wrap and tackle Ryan.

Re: Falcons postgame
Yeah that was horrible. They need to at least bring some competition.

Re: Falcons postgame
Scherff is expected to be out 2-3 weeks. Thomas is week to week, which is good news for us. Seals-Jones isn't Thomas and I could tell how this affected the offense.

I think Logan Thomas makes a couple of those catches Seals-Jones missed or flat out dropped.

^^ twitter video of the play Matt Ryan does do a pump fake which perhaps caused Chase to pull up a bit not wanting a late hit .. but Chase is a supreme athlete and that is just poor body control, poor angling on his part ... seemed like he assumed Ryan would get rid of it and didnt want to come in too hot that he couldnt avoid contact if he did release it |

Re: Falcons postgame
I repeat he throws a forearm at Ryans head for no reason.

Re: Falcons postgame
After watching the play the forearm check is a very odd maneuver.

Re: Falcons postgame
Nah, he clearly starts out with a two hand shove, and his forearm comes up to the neck area right under the mask. If he was going for the head he would have knocked him into next week.

Re: Falcons postgame
Maybe lifting his arm so he wasn't pushing through Ryan and it clocks him? The sequence looks so awkward.
