Man I hope Doctson turns a corner and becomes our big threat! unless we have a sure fire pro bowl player at pick 13 we should trade down and get extra picks WR,RB for sure. lets give Smith some tools!

Landry, Doctson, Crowder, draft pick

Reed at TE if he can finally stay healthy, I am just asking for 12 games, I like that group

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

I think he would suck in Washington. IMO he is built to play for the Steelers only. Sure he can catch the ball out of the backfield but I find it hard to see his success running behind our O Line.

Why do you think our starting O line is bad?

That’s the next step. Then when you do that, they have to make plays for you. You’ll never know until those balls are thrown.”

At times Doctson was open for more chances. Other times he dropped passes that could have resulted in big plays. The Redskins also want to add a speedy receiver opposite Doctson to create more openings for big plays – much like Jackson did in clearing out areas if nothing else.

Gruden hopes, if Cousins does return, that he can build upon his experience with Doctson. They don’t want Cousins to see “ghosts” – a defensive back who might be somewhat near the area but not close enough to make a play on the ball.

Jay Gruden wants Kirk Cousins to have more trust in his receivers - NFC East- ESPN

"Seeing ghosts" I like that. Doc 100% still has untapped upside without a doubt. I have a feeling he breaks out more this next season it's time.

If he has a QB that trusts him and works with him then everything should improve.

Doctson didn’t exactly make the most of his opportunities last year. He needs to start coming up with the tough catches more often than not.

That is where practice comes in. They were saying even in practice Cousins was not throwing those balls which would drop rhythm and trust as well as experience.

True. This is an area where Smith will be an improvement.

But what is also true is Kirk took more and more shots down the field throughout the season, threw some 50/50 like he was asked to... And Doctson dropped many of those... Several TDs...

Our receiver corps didn't deliver last season. No excuse.

With the quality of our cornerbacks the practice field was perfect for experience. Kirk should have just been throwing balls up all day for Doctson to learn how to battle and keep balls against NFL level CBs.

I am really hoping Smith works on rhythm then builds up WR confidence.

That is why part of me hopes they keep Pryor and give him at least a chance.

Yes he should have.

But that's not an excuse for dropping not (or very little) contested balls...

I am going to be honest I am getting to the point with WRs and CBs where I do not want to seem them selected in the first 2 rounds. Or get proven FAs.

Get proven FAs or 3rd round or lower.

Build from the line out.

Re: Redskins 2018 Off Season Re/Signings

*Just trying to bring life to other subjects than our former QB*

I feel like this year we need to go offense in FA, and defense in the draft.
Mainly because we need to put weapons around Smith and I don't see a lot of real difference makers available at positions of need for us on the defense:

- I was all for making a push to sign Jarvis Landry, now that he's tagged, who do you guys like at WR ? Sammy Watkins? Paul Richardson? Marqise Lee?
Not sure I know enough about any of these guys to get really excited, but we need a sure number one WR.

- If we don't spend huge money on a WR, do we make a push for guard Andrew Norwell ? Cooley loves the guy, he'd be a huge upgrade over Lauvao.

- At RB I like Crowell, maybe Deion Lewis?

- Among possibilities on the defensive side of the ball are Dontari Poe (if we're gonna stay in a 3-4, get proven NT who's not that old) and LaMarcus Joyner (he played safety last season but played slot CB a lot, he could be used at a fair price to replace Fuller).

On thing's for sure, after finding a viable and immediate solution at QB, I don't want another year of McClains and McGees .
Get a few playmakers and build through the draft. We can compete now.

I'd also like us to trade down in the first to get a 3rd back, or even another 2nd. If we don't get significant playmaking defenders during FA, we need to increase chances to get them in the draft.
